I'll join in if I can find F/A-18 anywhere. Nem, don't you have DISH?

Forget DISH. The only cool thing about it is the carrier ops. Other than that the program is very buggy, and the flight models are really lacking. the avionics is simplified and a little arcady. Not even sure if it has a mission editor, i havent played it in so long.

I think DISH is pretty cool-if only the carrier ops could be modelled in other sims. There are options to increase and decrease avionics realism. My only complaint is the lack of a dynamic campaign-I think one would make the sim so much better.

Dish was one of my favourite Sims for the F-18, but compared to Janes it is seriously lacking.

There is no mission editor, no dynamic campaign and the carrier ops were good but Janes still has the edge over Dish on this.

The weapons available and there use was pretty complex and the AI at high settings were ruthless highly accurate both in the Air and the ground based defenses and flight model was pretty basic.

It is a pitty that no-one ever took to modding Dish as it could have become the next Janes as it were but left at stock (i don't even think there were any patches released for it at all) as it was it looked pretty and was good single player but MP is a no no unless you wanted to dogfight Online and from what i can tell it's MP was unstable.

On saying all that i might just load it up and see what the possibilities are, even if we can make a single player mission from it's stock missions part of the campaign.

There was a very basic DISH update, but I don't know exactly what it improved. Nem, I'll gladly join you for DISH anytime we're both around.

Hammer, I have also got a copy of Jane's F/A-18, and I don't use it anymore. I'll just get that packed off to you along with the US version RvS if you want. Just let me know if you want the damn thing and it's all yours!

Well, I had to offer it up to the guy who I originally offered it to a while back - I didn't think about that until I'd written this reply on the thread. No drama, I think I can do something about it even if he DOES still want it.
I'll have a blast at that this evening when I get back in from hockey with the lil' guy.
