IL-2 FB Last Night

Post by PanzerMeyer »

Jedi, Gator, Grifter and I played several missions last night. We had a blast and the game ran rock solid. I was glad to see that my 256k upload was enough to support a 4 player game. That was my main concern. As far as I know, no one had any lag issues. We did missions in North Africa, Western Front, Eastern Front and the Pacific.

I was my usual bullet and shrapnel magnet. The odd thing is how rarely I get killed by them DIRECTLY. Usually I wind up crashing into either another plane or the ground as a result of reduced maneuverability or continual rolling to the side of the more damaged wing--only on occasion do I get a dead pilot or exploding/lost wing/lost tail death.

For the first time in what seems like forever, I had a good night in the pilot's seat. Managed to shoot down a few bandits, take out a tank and jink my way across the African shoreline, dodging flak from a vessel off the coast. :D Still, my bombing runs were less than desirable, I could'nt keep the pipper on target. Guess I'll work on that. All in all, a fun night indeed!

Yeah, I really really miss flying. I need to get some F4 time too. ;-)

Thanks man Steel for the great housewarming gift!

Grifter.
