I just turned on ICQ now, and it said that Madrus's birthday was on the 20th. Well, if this is right, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!

You share the same birthday as both my sister and my grandmother... :roll:

Yeah, well when i have to get one of those motorized wheelchairs, you know the one with the joystick, i am gonna get one with two joysticks. one for gaming ya know?

Hmm, could be a whole new industry, making gaming wheelchairs and walkers, scooters with afterburners, a graystation (instead of a playstation),.....

Pensions? Hmm...I have a 401K and I've properly diversified my money into 5 mutual funds. 2 aggressive, 2 moderate and 1 conservative.

I have 2 pensions because I teach; however, I'm not letting that stop me from diversifying my portfolio and investing what meager wages I can in hopes of early retirement. hehe.

How do you define "early" retirement? Meaning under 65?

In order for me to retire with my full pension I would normally have to work 34 yeras in the system.

Alternatively:

One plan is that I teach high school for 20 to 25 years and retire. I'll continue to teach at the college level to supplement my income until I'm 58. Teaching college part-time, quite frankly, is far less stressful than teaching High school. I realize however that this is probably unlikely do unforeseen variables; still, my current portfolio, which includes other investments in addition to my pension, may allow me to do so nonetheless.

Another option is similar except that I make a lateral move into administration in order to earn a higher income.

Still another option is that over the course of the next 15 years, I take courses part-time towards my Ph.D and laterally move into teaching college full time.

In any case, there is no way in hell that I'm going to teach High School for 30 years. It's simply too stressful and requires too much time for too little reward.
