Hi

Post by Nemisis »

Hi guys just the newbee here again, i just thought i had to say i love the way the new site is progressing i makes it and us look so much more like a proffesional well organised unit  and as already stated will bring in more new recruits like me which can only be a good thing.

I know i am not really part of the gang yet as it were as i am untested but even though i have yet to take to the skies with you i have been following the missions you have been on and have just been so frustrated that i am limited to only the one sim at the moment (soon to be rectified  )

I have big plans ahead as i am about to move to England and take on a new job, but the one big benefit of this is that i will be on a back shift on my new job meaning i get home at about 01:00 just nice to get most of you guys OL due to the time differance!!

catch you all in the skies soon!

Like Raptor said, no need for acceptance. You're Wings of Fury now! Looking forward to flying on your wing.

Also on another Exccellent note the Coastal town i'm moving to is on the flight path for the local RAF base and you get to see them fly over and then practice their ACM just of the coast so i'll be out there with a big pair of binoculars taking notes on what they are doing.

ALSO there is an air show there every year everybody goes down to the beach and watches the displays including the world famous RED ARROWS (much better than the BLUE ANGELS or T-BIRDS  ) so i think i am onto a winner with this move.

The display this year was exciting as an RAF Harrier's engine stalled during it's hovering manouver: Pilot ejected only suffering from some light bumps and knocks from the ejection! The Harrier had Navy ships protecting it for a week while they got the equipment in to salvage it, the tail fin could still be seen sitting above the water!

If i get some photos of the Tornados you'll get a copy ASAP Raptor, I think i might have several already from the Mildenhall Airshow about 4 years ago! But since Tracey my wife is so supper efficient she ahs already packed away 3/4 of everything in the house and were not moving until the end of November!!

But as soon as i get them unpacked you'll get them!

I was down in Lowestoft (this is where i am moving to by the way) 3 weeks ago and was taking a nice walk along the sea front when a flight of 5 Tornados flew right over head, boy do those engines roar i estimate they were at 1,500 to 2000 feet up!

And when i was down 2 years ago i watched 2 Tornados dog fight about 1/2 mile of the coast it was excellent watching them fire of there flares when one got a firing solution!

On another note, you've got a real sadistic sense of humour Raptor  I like it!!!

Hi again folks! Well it looks like i've managed to source a copy of Falcon 4.0 (if only in a compilation pack) so i will have a copy in my hands at the latest on Saturday at the earliest Tomorrow!!!! :D .

So looks like Raptor will have another trainee to look after and fly into in a couple of days after i work out the basics of flying the F-16 (ie how to start the engine and other niggly wee things like that) as well as setting up a new programming profile for the X45.

Hades would be honoured to go OL with you but as i am a bit of a flying nut it looks like i could only join you in the skies to start with and i'll need to get a copy of one of the ground assault sims you guys are always killing each other on!

By the way has Viper got the Hang of throwing grenades at the enemy rather than his own squad yet!!!!

See you all in the skies soon.

I didn't realize that Viper had this affliction as well. He'd fit right in with the ghosts too. Seems like we could all use some grenade practice.

F4 startup and nades...

Post by Softball »

Start up, schmartup.....Just click TAXI and you are good to go. Start up just takes to damn long IMO. I wanna get up in the air as fast as possible.

As far as Viper and his grenade throwing, I'm sure it has improved. I'll never forget the OFP mission we had. It was down to Viper and myself, and we were low crawling through a building to get the last enemy soldier on the other side. Viper had a great idea to throw a grenade through the door way. Well, the grenade bounces off the top of the door way, hits the floor in front of us, and BOOM! Mission over! We were all like AWWWWWWWWW MMMMMMAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNN!!!!! It was just one of those things where you had to be there.

Ah, the beautiful startup....Nothing beats taking 15 minutes to do a full startup, run a full mission, and land with a shutdown!

The next thing you know we'll be doing walk arounds before climbing into the cockpit, lol!

Anyone remember F-18 Hornet with the animated deck crews? Too bad everything else with that sim went downhill. :(
