no, not alcoholics anonymous, but rather America's Army. I'm getting the urge to play this game again. Not sure what it is, but if there is any interest here, please speak up. I'm not interested in getting into those public servers with all the immaturity, but i'm sure there's groups that play it legit.
Plus, if we're getting an infusion of new folks, it might be a good time to resurrect...
Any suggestions/interest?

On the subject of AA, I went into their forums to see if there was anything interesting I didn't already know.
Well, they're releasing a new version this summer (2.5 and 2.6) called "Overwatch" that will shift the game into UT2K4 and add vehicles (Humvees, strikers, technicals, etc) and AI for MP Coop modes. From what the devs are saying, the AI will not be individual run and gun bots, but actually squad-tactics AI. Apparently they've already got this running on an internal army build. Also, they hired the guy who wrote the Onslaught mode at Epic. They are also on schedule to add artillary and mortars.
One other thing - they're adding civilians as a way to stop grenade spamming and slow down the game. Also, you can interact with civs to gain intel. Also, they're adding carryable objectives and implementing "random" spawn/objective locations so that folks can't just learn the map patterns.
Depending on what appears later this year, this could be something to revisit.
