Voting Day
So are our British members of WOF voting today? I actually watched a program called "Question Time" which was aired on C-Span this past weekend. It was very interesting getting to see the differences between US and UK politics
I have learned from experience that a modicum of snuff can be most efficacious - Baron Munchausen
In 20 years I have not been in a physical position to vote - although I could have had someone do so on my behalf, with some effort. However, I have always refrained, and perhaps it is the only 'vote' for myself seeing as I look at politics with the following view:
They all lie, the size of lie is dependant upon the candidate and constituency, and mostly over issues which are in question in that area. I have yet to see delivery of a promise made by a government, or once delivered not reversed upon.
In an ideal world I would have a reason to vote for a specific candidate for the constituency I am living in. But our current situation is as follows:
1. We will leave here (Sandhurst, Surrey) in one month.
2. We will travel to Bordon, Hants.
3. We will then leave Bordon, Hants in six months.
4. We will travel to Bracknell, Berks to live for a further 6 - 24 months.
5. We will emigrate to Canada.
So, any vote we may have made would count for nothing on our behalf in general. Yes, a very lethargic approach, but one that makes sense in some way instead of voting pointlessly for anyone.

I agree with Kodiak as regards to what he says about politcians and thier Promises (Promises! see bullshit) and as for voting for them well that just encourages them as far as i am concerned, and since there is no difference between one party and the next, what's the point of choosing (voting) one over the other, they are going to do what they want to do anyway the only difference is there is a different guy running each party.
Goverments will only sway to public opinion on issues if there is a public outcry and it's near to election time other than that they do pretty much what they want. Saying that "you the public can change how the country is run" by voting for a certain party is just BOLLOCKS and a poor attempt at brainwashing, since how the country is run changes very little when a new party wins and takes over the country.
Politics and politicians what a load of bollocks and w*****s.
