Attention Weekend Warriors

Post by Grifter »

I've been meaning to put together a weekend flight for those of us who cannot fly during the week due to schedule conflicts and time zone issues. I'm thinking of Saturday nights or early Sunday evenings. The question is what sim you would most like to fly on the weekend? USAF, F4, or JF18? While I myself love F4, these two other sims have been nearly forgotten as best as I can tell. Perhaps this would be an opportunity to recharge them.

Looks like Falcon is in the lead

If this keeps up, I'm going to have to learn how to write campaigns in F4. I wish we would pick up Enduring Freedom. I guess, I've missed a lot of it already.

Weekend good for me also although despite the time Zone thing(i'm GMT +1) i'm going to try and make it for at least one Flight during the week. JF-18 would be good but i'm thinking i want to go with F4 as i need all the Practice i can get (Grifter knows what i mean) so have voted for this.

Decisions Decisions

Post by Grifter »

Well, my vote for JF18 makes it a tie between the two underdogs. While I personally would love to play F4, especially since my work prevents me from playing during the week, I believe there is a demand for these two other games. Besides, we don't want to overkill F4. Many people seem to feel that USAF should be put on the reserve sim list and that we should play the more modern or realistic stuff. JF18 does'nt seems to need a jumpstart. Those interested in playing JF18 early Sunday evenings, please tell me in this thread. We'll start asap.

Good ideas always come after making decisions

Actually, to satisfy all weekend warriors concerned, I will run an early Saturday evening flight of JF18 and an early Sunday evening flight F4. Those interested should say so in this thread.

As stated Earlier in this post i would want to get as much practice on F4 as poss but i can do a lot of that on my own and would now have to agree With Viper and Grifter that JF-18 would be a good option for the weekend as it would give JF-18 a kickstart, and i think that it would be good for new recruits to see that we have all our advertised Sims operational and actively being used rather than just concentrating on just one!

On another note Raptor, you have been doing a great job on the web site some real progress there, looking really proffesional an also good to see the the full roster is posted. I am easily pleased and seeing my name on the active roster put a smile on my face!

I definitely would like to use the TSH addon as this is what i have installed, and i dont think it would be to diffucult for anyone one without it to get it unless the're inflicted with 56K modem syndrome.

A reinstall of JF18 standard version would cause me and my Pc a headache no doubt( it is three years old now the poor thing) although if no one else is using this version then that's the way i would go as i don't want to miss any action!

hmm

Post by Grifter »

I was unaware that any patch was being used, but since it was being used before, why the hell not. Unless there are any stringent objections, I think it best to install it. As I have not yet, I shall hold off on doing so until I get a confirm from you guys. Let me know. Nemesis, I know, wants to keep it.

Hi folks, the TSH uprage can be found at the site in Vipers post above but you will also need to get the Official patch for JF-18 if you don't have it already, this should be downloaded FIRST and then the TSH, the patch fixes a lot of problems That JF-18 has with CTD's and other small quircks.

This patch can be found on our downloads page that Raptor has set up and is a working link, I checked this last night (another Gold star for Raptor on that one) Apologies to Grifter for forgetting about it as he had to DL this after the TSH addon but it went OK. On the TSH page there is also a F14 load out DL this is needed if you want to Load up the F14 with weapons that you can now fly with the TSH addon.

I don't have full instructions as to where to move the Loadout file too but if any body else does then a post would be appreciated

Both the Official patch and the TSH addon are auto installers just launch them when unzipped and they will do the rest let themgo with there own selected directory.

Happy landings on the Carrier
