Air Show

Hmmmm, strange. Steel, I did not get an ICQ message from you. :(

Debi and I went today(Sunday), Saturday was a MESS! We were on our way there and the traffic was at a stand still from Convoy St. to the 15. It was getting close to the Blue Angels show time, so we went and watched them from my In-Laws house, which is about 2 blocks from the base.

We were there today from about 11:00am to about 2:30pm. I took alot of video of the planes on the deck and got to watch the MAGTF demo, F-16 Demo, F-117 Demo, F-15 / Mustang Demo, and then we were on our way out the gate on the F-14 Demo. The F-14 is a sleek, loud, fast, and intimidating jet. I wish it was still around SD. The F-117 demo was great to see, they have never had that demo at the Miramar Air show.

I was surprised to see that they were letting people go inside the B1B that was parked on the tarmac. That is the first time I have ever been that close to the B1B. It is a HUGE jet up close.

I also walked into the C5 Galaxy, now THAT thing is a monster! That jet can sure hold a lot of cargo. It makes the C-130 look like a toy.

Sorry we weren't able to meet, maybe next year.

I sent the icq prolly after you left...

I have deployed in a C5 before - yes, you can pack a lot of stuff in them.

We ended up not going...stayed at the gun show (went back with Danielle today to look at a handgun for her). I increased my cache, and found some needed cleaning equipment. I can't believe I got through a gun show without actually buying a gun! :D
