Wings of Fury Recruiter

Post by Softball »

I would be interested in a Wings of Fury Recruiter position. Am I eligible for this even though I am a Wing Commander (13th MEU)? Can anyone hold these positions? What all would be involved with Recruiting? I have been doing some recruiting the last few months for F4 and OFP. It would be nice to see some more new faces around here huh? I guess you just have to find the right people, which is not always easy. I am definately up for the challenge.

Thanks.

NO! DON'T LET SOFTBALL DO IT!!!! j/k :D

Realistically, we should all be recruiters... If you run into good folks, bring them in. I know it would be easier if we did play more mp games within the entire community, rather than only in our little community. It works for us in ELH - we just set up a public server and folks flock to it like flies on doo-doo... :) We have built up a rep. and leagues beg us to participate and we have about a 50 person active roster...but that does not happen if you do not expose yourselves to the gaming community out there.

Recruiting

Post by Softball »

I still would like to keep my name in the hat for WOF Recruiter.

Yes, I agree, we should all be recruiters. I also think that if we have one "lead" recruiter, then everyone can forward people off to them and that person can explain in detail what WOF has to offer, what squads are available, etc... It all sounds good to me, either way, we always need new faces in here.

Great idea Steel, I like the joining public servers idea. I remember, back in the day, I used to play Delta Force online with a friend of mine, and he was in a Clan (Like the WOF team) and I would play online with their Clan. We should do this and see how it goes.

We would have to come up with a way to show who is in WOF. Like we are doing for Shattered States. Something like, Softball_WOF, might be good. We could do this with GR and OFP, but I am not sure how how other games (flight sims) would go. Flight sims seem a bit more on the intra-squad side of gaming. Maybe when Delta Force: Blackhawk Down comes out, we could do this? Form a PUBLIC online squad, practice together, and then play against other squads or other people on a public server.

Great ideas, keep them coming.

Oh, and Raptor, PLEASE don't expose yourself. 8O

I would like to be considered for Software reviewer. I do have plans to make some major purchases when it comes to Flight SIMMS and the like.

RAPTOR with your approval would you put my name in the hat for Software Reviewer for WOF.

Sadly,
I tried the public server route with the Ghosts a while back - it went nowhere. The Ghosts did not want to play against/with folks they did not know! Maybe that sentiment has changed now? It will certainly have to with Shattered States. Back then the tag was .SOG for Special Operations Group...but WOF is just fine. We should probably standardize on <callsign>_WOF for everyone.

I lead in the recruit role will work very well. We do need someone to hand folks off to. I was merely stating that we should all be recruiters and not leave it to just one person - we will not get a lot of new folks that way. Maybe this position should be S1/G1 and not recruiter...???

I don't think dedicated hardware/software reviewers will work. It seems that it will just be whenever someone buys something new...??? Unless the purchaser will send it to the reviewer to conduct the review??? I just don't want to see an over-encumbrance of positions "just because". My $.02 - done now... :D

Or is there a special type of wing that is awarded to an IP in RL? Perhaps a mini-graphic of that, if so...

No, it is not funny - he uses them all! :)

I'll also volunteer for the recruiter position. Not many people down here fly F4, but once I get the comp next week I'd love to show it off and get some more IRL pilots addicted :)

Just curious wondering if these admin positions have moved along or are we still in the first stages of introduction and recruiting for the positions?
