Raven Shield demo

Post by Hammer »

I found this very interesting:

3D Gamers has received a Cease and Desist notice from Ubi Soft Entertainment regarding our mirror of the multiplayer demo for Rainbow Six: Raven Shield, ordering us to revoke the demo. Regretably and under protest, we must comply. We're sorry for not being able to serve you the file until Friday November 21, and you are welcome to express your thoughts about this situation, or whether 3D Gamers should carry Ubi Soft demos in the future, on our Feedback page or in our forum.

I do suggest that folks get it and DL it to try it out... It might be the GR replacement (bet they don't have iron sights though!).

Geez... You people are so closed minded... Why would we NOT replace GR? Think about it form that angle, then the other... Everything is optional...

Well I guess that sums up my luck - not only does the demo only support anything except 56K, it's an online ONLY demo :x , so I guess I won't be playing with it until the real thing comes out.
At least the music is cool!
Anyway I enjoyed just watching the Splinter Cell video if nothing else

You can screw around with it by yourself by creating a game and unchecking dedicated server. At least you can checkout flashbangs, smoke grenades and stuff.

Sounds worth having a go at just to see what it's all about! Thanx, B-K.

Well I tried it a bit yesterday, and am not impressed. It DOES look really good, but has a somewhat simplified CS feel to me for some reason. It does not have the environmental FEEL that GR does. Maybe just because it is the demo, not sure...

It is the FEEL of the game I don't like as much. GR FEELS better, even when playing a CS type game...

Ravenshield really brings back the Rainbow 6 feeling I had way back when. I loved R6 and RS, so I think I will really like RvS Co-op. I am not really into the Deathmatch type games.

I will definately be getting RvS when it hits the shelves. Feelings or not.

Do Hefalumps have feelings anyway?

Well Softball, from what I understand heffalumps do have feelings except when they are making a ruckous...which Raptor is almost continually doing, especially in the woods.
