Ok I have tried for a week now to get MW4 to work with XP and I can't seem to get it to go. I was on the phone with MS for 3 hrs and they couldn't help. Anyone got any ideas??

I would appreciate the help

Justice,

One of my fellow CC members had the same problems your having.

He can connect now but his ping times to the server are horrible.

However, he may have overcome the problem. So might i suggest ya find him on irc.guidstone.net (IRC server) in a channel called chiken. Otherwise post your problem on our open forum the link is;

Post it to the attention of CluckerChiken. He can help ya.

Ok folks I fixed it. It turned out it was thr firmware for my dvd-rom. I bought a cd-rw and replaced it so now everything works great. And yes XP is backwards compatible but it has enhanced security features that won't let certain drives play certain disks (i.e. MW4) because they want to phase out Legacy hardware. Again thanks for all the input.

well looks like im late on this one hehe, one thing ive found with winxp so far is that the built in firewall can get in the way. i noted that before i turned off the built in firewall i had worse loss then afterwards. i still have loss, but it is no different from winME to winXP. so i believe it is something to do with the cable modem service. also a quick note to winXP users who run Nvidia cards and sound blaster live cards. there ARE updated to the detenator drivers for nvidia, it realy smoothed out alot of the little graphic glitches i found. the sound blaster live value drivers also helped some things and now is running realy smooth. so far ive had only 1 major hang/crash. and for those who know me, thats amazing LOL. for those who are getting winXP or just got it, make sure to go threw and update all the drivers you can find. im still playing with network stuff. if i find anything else out will drop it on here.
