just killed a foot or so long rattlesnake in the back yard... Crushed its skull and tore its back open... Too bad, would have been cool to keep for a while.

Heh! I just measured it and it was 19 inches long. Not large, but not small either. 3 knobs on the rattle - so 3 molts.
