shoot the shit, favorate Battletech mechs, Not MW4
I am here in school bored out of my tree. Should be doing work but hell don't want to. So hey came up with a interesting, wonder what peoples favorate battle tech mechs to use are. If you ever play battle tech or megamek you probaly have a few.
Personaly I love the assume, with 3 ppc and 1 LL, keep it back and tear the shit out of anything. Only issue is gass mechs outranging it.
Another one would have to be the Thunder Hawk. I took one in a lance game against the bot it did in 3 of the 4 bots
And list I Well name is a axeman or hatchetman, well not the best weapon layouts, but in close combat I well take those axes over your mechs fist anyday
I am still well learning and playing with mech configs in battletech, but am sure some of you have some fun ones you know of already
if it moves, KILL IT
:gulp:

Well mate I've been playing BTech with miniatures for way too long. I think Kerensky was a Corporal when I started! My favourite is, without a doubt, the Marauder. I just think she looks cooler than an ice cube down your shorts. A close second is the Warhammer. I know the 'hammer is the fav of a lot of others around here too. Another mech that I would love to see grace MW is the Behemoth. I could go on for ages about Riflemen, Archers and Panthers.

For me it would be:
1)Battlemaster (Hanse Davion kicking capellan ass in New Avalon...so cool!!) :duel
2)Warhammer
3)Rifleman
4)Wolfhound(not the mw4!!!!never!!!)
5)Centurion( i love this one!!...Justin Allard and later Kai Allard's mech in Solaris) :worship
6)Penetrator(newer design...made to fight the clans)
There are others but those are the first to come to mind.

The most recent group of guys that I play Battletech with use a fairly large mix of custom mechs & I usually just show up and take what they got. But thinking back, I think I liked these designs since I have been playing:
1) Marauder- just the looks alone cinched it for me
2) Phoenix Hawk Series
3) Rifleman
4) Jenner
5) Griffin
6) Battlemaster
Last, but not least, the mech my good friend Mike used to unleash against me, his 25 MG terror called the Viper. It should have been called the FlinchMech because once he threw the 50 dice into the box top, everyone around the board flinched. To counter, I brewed up an 8 ML mech I deemed the Lightshow. We fought the Battle of Genoa Lake, a place in southeastern KY that I used a topo map to adapt into a gameboard. I believe we shot each other to pieces and he finally charged me into the side of a steep hill. I think he criticaled his own head and his remaining ammo cooked off. Spectacular! RIP, Mike- and thanks for teaching me BattleTech way back then.
Speaking of Battletech, does anyone like to use any particular Mech programs? I used MechEngineer Pro for some time until I finally picked up Heavy Metal Pro.
BTW Veg, nice post. It's nice to hear about the rest of the team playing the original game.

You are right, there is a open sorce (ie FREE to those non computer guys) game called mega mek. It has most to almost al the mechs from battletech. Its aa 2d game where you get mto move mechs around like the origional battle tech, and generaly you don't need to strong a understanding of the game as it dose up al the modifiers and crap for you. Myself and a few others in the 21st play it a bit. Its jsut plane fun to see where mw4 came from, that and to have 6 mechs under your command. :gulp:
