Logitech Wingman 3d pro. About 35 bucks at Best Buy. Has everything the MS stick has but just feels better, much smoother. also it can be eaither USB or serial so it's felxable. Now having said that, I buy them 2 at a time. They tend to last me abotu 6 months before they begin the eternal left turn. I think me driving a raven kills them in the end. Now you might say...damn 6 months? Buy them from Best Buy, get the 2 year replacement plan for like 4-6 bucks and when it dies...walk in and they hand you a new one. Been looking into that new Thrustmaster HOTAS setup (it's what I used in MW2 days) and I may go to that just cuz I'm lost without all those buttons =)

hey Big Benn. there was a update for the sidewinder 3d pro... i will see if i can find the link. all i know is when i upgraded from windows 98 upgrade to winME i lost support for my stick too. however when i installed XP i regained that driver again. i think its the microsoft auto detect thingy.

i have my stick on reserve right now though considering i got used to the precition pro sticks during my winME days and just use it now... however i realy do think its possible to get the sidewinder working again. soon as i find the page and link will post it here.

I run all logeth sticks. It took me over a year to kill one with about 15 hr's a week hard gaming , it meating the floor several times and other crap. I assume a wire or somthign simple broke inside, but it as a excuse to upgrade to the force feedback logeth stick. And well its now several months old taking a mass beating. Now I well not put the Side winders down as well m$ don't make them but Logeth seams to be the best right now and hard to kill even whren trying, hey like I said took me over a year to kill.

I know what not to buy :)

I've tried the Saitek Forcestick and whilst it looks good it has very poor fine control and the self centring isn't very effective (too loose).

MS Precision Pro, Tried this and whilst it's ok it has very high input to movement ratios, meaning if you're like me and like to aim at a particular spot on a mech (I zoom on a mech even at 50m range) you tend to overcorrect.

Saitek Cyborg 3D, I still find this the best stick for overall gaming, the self centring is very strong (Theres a big spring just below the handle) so the resistance to movement takes a bit of getting used to but once you do it's lethal - The only drawback I've found is that it's easy to break the front trigger off when you get excited.

Logitech, again like the Saitek Cyborg, very good sticks for fine control with a good self centring capability. More rugged than the Cyborg but a little more expensive.

Thrustmaster Afterburner II for me  Tried all sorts before but the Thrustie wins by a good few points. Wiz and Beo are also Thrustie users.

Buff,
get the video card and see about getting the digital chip upgrades to your current TM HOTAS stuff... I bought mine used with the intent of doing those upgrades...it is easy top do and works great. You will have one problem thougn - you will have to use a special driver for MW4 becaseu MW4 will not work with a 32 button controller...and M$ will not fix it. It should be fixed in MW5...

Here is the site for the digital chip upgrade to see if you are interested and have the correct TM stck, etc.

Look at the swf22...
