I thought long and hard about that statement from Steel and after careful consideration I agree. I think that if old Ossie bin Liner is ever caught we should given him an all paid holiday and listen to his plight and try to understand his problems. After all what has the guy done?

If anyone suggested to me that, for me to want retribution against someone who say, for instance, harmed my kids, makes me as bad a person as the perpetrator, then that person is just as deserving to get his balls cut off as whoever it is that done the deed.
It may not be christian to seek revenge for wrongdoing, but it's sure as hell natural. And ive never considered myself christian as such, i simply live an honest life. That's more than can be said for anyone who deliberately sets out to harm another for no reason at all.

I think the point I was trying to make is that it is quite and very natural to seek retribution. Now how far does one go? Taking it to the point of cruelty is considered by some excessive. Hanging is actually quite humane, considering you are putting someone to death (and done properly as stated above). A neck shot would not be quite so humane, but still all in all fairly so. There are many, many other methods that I am sure others would like to see utilized on this particular individual that would be very inhumane...but are they just in their desires, or are they cruel?

Not the Taliban they supported. How would one of you feel if some one parked their army on your front porch. The U.S. out military bases on muslim holy land. Put yourself in their shoes how would you feel?

To be honest if I personally witnessed someone brutally torture and murder someone I cared about I would NOT HATE that person. Because i would have already have forgiven them, that person will have to live with that until death. Hate and love are both strengths and weaknesses.
Why? Because I believe people shoulf fight their own fights. If I was injured and trapped in a burning car I would expect whatever onlookers to not do any thing and let me burn to death.
Hatred and love cloud judgement, that is why I push such things into the
back off my mind and just move on. Events in the past should be learned from, but should remain in the past.

You should go back and read a lot more history on terrorism. Also do some research on the motivations of the extremist muslim community. We did not park an Army on their doorstep to start with, and the same applies to many other nations involved in this. You MIGHT be able to claim that for some of the imperialistic nations in the past, but they did not inflict them with terrorism. It is also all in the past, why do those extremists carry it into the future?
Also think about letting others run rampant over their neighbors... The U.S. and U.K could have done this in both WW1 and WW2 (not to mention U.K. and many other wars on the continent...). We may all be speaking German now... How would that sit with you? Not to have the freedom to talk about what you think? It does pay to be involved. Yes, there are many other motivators for foreign governments becoming involved instead of "letting others fight their own battles"...but look for the good in the end results and you may actually see the reasons for doing so. That does, however, require some amount of optimism.

restaurant with a couple of kilos of explosives strapped to you and blowing youself up.
The point I am trying to make is that if you continuously ignore someone that person or group is probably going to get pissed off. I know that terrorism has been along for a LONG time. Hell even the U.S. has its own terrorist organization... :barf: The KKK.
