Re-seen unseen Battlemech minis

Post by Tach Deneva »

I've seen the 're-seen' (redesigned, that is) Phoenix Hawk, Marauder, Locust, and Thunderbolt minis (at Ironwind Metals and on eBay). There are TRO pics on the Classic Battletech website (Phoenix Project) of various other re-seen unseen 'mechs. I like the new Phoenix Hawk. What do you guys think of 'em?

Well I am actualy getitng those 4 nad peobaly the next 4 due out soon. I have knows about these where comming for a long time. but the one that bugs me, the mradder looks nothing like the origional mradder. Wile say the locus and the t bolt atleast resembal them. But hey cool way to get thme back intot he game nad also rember a lot of them where out for over 100 years. So those that sya hey they look diffrent. You atleast u get thme back leagealy and that over a lime period especialy with the technology jump over the last 20 years in the tiem line that these could be the outcome of some of the extream changes ahpping to mecks as of late.

Exactly! Now that the Unseen are Re-seen, there's no longer any reason they can't be used in the next version of MW! Woo woo!

The new Marauder does look a lil skinny...

I went on my first 'mini run' in ages and got the new 're-seen' Marauder and Locust, but I haven't taken 'em outta the blister packs yet. I like the new Locust better than the old one, but I still think the new Marauder is kinda skinny-looking (I have two of the old Marauders).

I also picked up a Grand Titan, which looks like it will be fun to paint, and a Bushwacker.

In a moment of weakness, I bought a MW Dark Age starter pack. Within five minutes of opening the box, I broke the barrel on one of the tanks (it was bent; I tried, very gently, to straighten it). Ugh. Has anybody here played this so-called 'ClickTech' version of Battletech? If so, did you like it, or did you have to crawl under the bed for three days to recover from the wretchedness of it?

Some of the new Re-seen are cool some are ...well...not so cool. But they are trying. I like the Phawk...in CBT/MM game thats so far my fav mech, the Phawk 3PL with 1 LPL, 2 MPL, Tcomp, JJ...it can nail foes and jump merrily away. My other fav is the Penetrator.

Dont get me started on Magetech...er...Clicktech....er...I mean....Poketech..oh screw it...DA is evil.....there I said it. I'm going to go get clean now.

being a relative Btech novice, can some1 pls explain DA to me....as i understand it, there's been some huge apocalyptic war. and all the tech has been lost....kinda like around when Kerensky left the IS, but on an even bigger scale....when is this set, and who was the war against/between?
cheers for any info that comes my way :)

Okay, you asked for it...

3067: The newly-reborn Star League is dissolved, as everybody suddenly realizes it was just a 'political maneuver' good for nothing but playing a little trick on those gullible Clanners. Then those crazy Word of Blake guys 'unleash a jihad' against the Inner Sphere (mostly because they haven't been getting enough fiber in their diets, due to the loss of the last Fruit and Fiber factory on Terra). Meanwhile, the Clans sit around watching copies of old holovids of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that some Clan Wolf astech found in the wreckage of a Pirate Urbanmech.

3071-3081: Some guy named Devlin Stone rallys everybody against WoB and whups butt in a big way. He asks for a big old chunk of space 120 light years roundabout Terra, and gets it. Some Capellans protest, but hey, who cares what the Capellans think anyway. Meanwhile, the Clans take up knitting, which is very relaxing, especially when watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer holovids, especially Season Two, when Angel and Buffy get it on and Angel loses his soul. It's heart-wrenching, I tell you, heart-wrenching.

3081-3129: Devlin Stone founds the Republic of the Sphere and boosts the economy by bringing back Classic Coke. Everybody is so happy they all say, 'Hey, we don't need no stinkin' Battlemechs, we want to teach the worlds to sing!' and peace rules the planets. Even the leaders of the Great Houses want in on the happy fun times, so they trade in all their war machines and junk on Coke machines and antique VCRs so they can watch old bootleg copies of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, cuz everybody has forgotten how to build holovid machines (except for the Clans, who are too busy producing NEW holovid episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer to care much about what goes on in the Inner Sphere. With all their knowledge of genetics, the Clans have managed to clone the original cast members of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, except for Xander, of whom no genetic material remains, because way back in the 29th Century some fans of the show got a little slap happy because 'Xander Lied!' and disintegrated Nick Brendon's remains. A parsecs-wide search is instituted for someone to play Xander in the new series).

3130: Even Devlin Stone is sick of the sorry situation he's created, plus he's decided he HATES Classic Coke and much prefers Pepsi, but to reveal this to the Republic would wreak havoc. So he packs his bags and heads out for parts unknown, swearing, of course, that he'll return should he ever be needed (but it's just a ploy to keep people from tagging along, you know, the way they did with that Kerensky guy). Shortly thereafter, those lucky folks with access to the new Clan Satellite Entertainment Network begin to notice that the new Xander looks kinda familiar...

3132: Somebody spills Pepsi on a Hyper Pulse Generator control panel, and nearly all HPGs all around the Inner Sphere short out, leaving 80% of the population with no access to the Clans' new Buffy the Vampire Slayer holovid series. Everybody is all upset! It's the worst Rerun Heck in Centuries! Bored out of their collective gourds, folks start thinking about how cool it would be if war made a comeback. But wait! What's this? Not enough Battlemechs left in the antique malls to go around! Well, we'll fix that! Let's take our Forestry Mechs, our Satellite Installation Mechs, and our Cow Milking Mechs and duke it out, how about it! Woo woo!

And there you have it.
