Freelancer

A shoot em up space game with a twist of actually going to bars to meet other people and acquire contracts. The Trial is big. It has over a dozen space stations you can visit , and a few planets. I haven’t found a time limit on the trial . I don’t think there is one.

A good game for kids if you have any , or something for you to do , to kill some time while you’re waiting to play Mech Warrior. I got the 148 MB Down Load in just 6 minutes at 330 KB/Sec . Nice , they have good bandwidth there.

I tried it, cuz it sounded kinda like Privateer, but I couldn't deal with using the MOUSE to pilot my ship. Ack. Crazy Microsoft - I've got a Microsoft joystick and now Microsoft makes a game I would probably really like, but ya have to use the blankety blank MOUSE cuz they didn't bother to support their own hardware.

Aye , I was Blankety Bank for awhile too , bout the mouse thingy. But. I started to get used to it. It's not my Favorite game , but it's something for the Kids , or to keep you busy in your spare time. I think Freespace was way better . Am I missing out on all the good game demos here ? Post it up , so we can have a look at it : )

i realy wish they would of kept the privateer series going
i realy enjoyed Privateer 2 alot!
i liked the way points and the hyper jumps hehe. i thought that setup would of made a most awsome multiplayer game! imageing a league or smething like that where your hired to protect frieghters 10 jumps to so and such planet. meanwhile T2 is the pirates trying to highjack it etc lol... ok enough dreaming i know

ok bad news... when i start a new game it goes threw the space scene just great. but when it gets to the planet everything is grey.. i cant see anything. DLed it again in case the textures got messed up and stuff and still nada....
not sure whats wrong.

The install instructions said you had to have DX 9 installed . Im not sure if that the prob or not tho. I had the same problem with the Haegemonia demo. Sux : )

Kewl , Free Trial : ) I could play it for weeks and stay in this one solor system for quite some time. But The other pirate ships are getting to good. I might have to buy a cargo ship soon and sell my light fighter. Will see.
