Right now I am painting up 2 companies for a Battletech event in Texas at the end of Feb. SLDF forces are defending the main Smoked Jaguar Brian Cache on Huntress. Timeframe is 3063, just after the main fighting over the old CSJ, CNC, and CGB holdings in clan space. Someone got word of the supply depot on Huntress, and many clans are inbound to claim it. I think we have about a battlion of SLDF forces at hand to defend with. Good thing the clanners will also be fighting each other before they get to the depot.....otherwise it would be a short fight I think.
Clan force setups:
Each Star will contain 1 mech from each weightclass, plus an extra mech of any class.
Each Star can contain one 2/3 pilot and the rest 3/4 (allows for some elites, but keeps everything relatively fair and easy to keep up with).
Total BV for Clan Stars is set to 14,000 per Star
Obviously, if the timeframe is 3063, there will be no 3064+ mech designs...
SLDF Forces setups:
Each SLDF player will be allowed 4 lances each lance to enter the table when the prior lance is destroyed.
Each lance will contain 1 mech from each weightclass, same as the Clans.
Each lance can contain one 2/3 pilot and the rest 3/4 (allows for some elites, but keeps everything relatively fair and easy to keep up with).
Total BV for each lance 7,000 BV except for the first lance which is allowed up to 2 clan mechs from the Lacasse GENERAL CLAN table. This first lance is restricted to 8,500 BV.
Obviously, if the timeframe is 3063, there will be no 3064+ mech designs...
See what is killing me here is the 3063 time frame and the 1 mech of each class. SLDF mech availibility is limited in this time and the class rule is the main kicker. SLDF 3061 tables have complete crap for mediums and lights in 3063. The fight will be in acanyon setting so combined arms is not going to work well as I need the ability to get into and out of the canyons easily. Also I cant use the ELH combined arms Inititive Rules for this so going complete combined arms is not worth it. I need lots of firepower to hammer whatever clan forces get thru each other.
So, I have had to go mech shopping. I will augment my ELH forces with my second favorite merc unit, the Blue Star Irregulars. They have as strong of ties to the old SLDF as ELH does so using them in a SLDF force makes sense to me.
Here are the lances I am going to be doing. Once I get to Dallas I'll figure out want 4 or 6 lances I'm going to play.

Say , That looks like a nice hobby to get into if you could get several people involved. The only Mech Warriors I know of over here on the west coast are my brother and I. That is unless I want to drive a good piece to meet up with others. With that said , I’m really ignorant about the whole thing.
I thought you guys were just making them Miniature Mechs for your own personal appreciation , But with a board like That , I would think several people would like to get evolved and do battles with one another till total annihilation was achieved. And That , Sounds like a whole lot of fun. I’ll need to start paying more attention to these Miniature Mechs and how the board game is played. Maybe someday I could make my own Mech Board and teach other how to play it. I’ll have to substitute my Mechs with plastic army men or whatever till I come up with something better tho.
PS.
Those Texan trees look weird down there. Lots of room between houses tho. I’ll bet you could fit a few cars in the drive way if you wanted another hobby to work on.

::Scratches His Head :: And starts thinking ,............ ............... Hmmm , Maybe BH wants be to drop by Kali more often. .... Well now that the old ELH hard ass marine Fether has finally dropped by along with Brons there lately , all they need is another mind to communicate with.
LOL , No offence Fether. I like you man. I have just been reading too many military books lately. I picture you as a hard ass Combat Marine or a competent Captain that doesn’t put up with any shit on the Battle Field.
All BS’in aside , Thanks BH , I’ll would like that. I’ll make an effort to swing by Kali more often....
.... I am expecting to see all of you there of course .
About Books , I have completed one recently that turned out was The fastest time I’ve ever read one. It lasted 2 and ½ days . It was a weird book called PREY. , by Michael Crichton. It was weird enough to keep me reading it. It’s about Nanoparticles with AI intelligence that takes place in a large secret laboratory in the middle of the Nevada desert .It was a government experiment that’s gone wrong , very wrong.

I’ve corrected some spelling in the last post , Might make a little more sense now.... .....Like the book was called Prey and not Pray , Didn’t mean to say caption , but really meant to say Captain. Stuff like that. Well hey , not everyone is perfect.
BH , Glad to hear it man : ) Hope you two have had a good weekend. ..... ..... Sounded like fun I’ll bet. In the end , ( After running around and trying to reclaim your youth , playing some old rockNroll ... ... and getting a little nuts..... ..) did you light any candles or slap a bottle of champagne next to the bubbly bath tub and then Afterwards have a romantic dinner with just the two of you ? I’ll bet that would have been a big plus , to reminisces about your past and bring back them old time love felt feelings that has long since been unseen now that you both have other priorities in mind. Anyway , I hope it was fun while it lasted man. : ) Still , over all , even with the kids you guys are living the American dream that many others can only dream of and that’s something to be proud of. Were keeping an eye on you man.....
