"The first is a "Force First Person Perspective" Cheat (FFP Cheat) and the second is a "Radar Cheat". This patch should also counter a rumored weapon recycle time cheat. The FFP Cheat allows a player to use 3rd person perspective while the servers has "Force First Person Perspective" turned on. As you can guess, a person that can use 3rd person while all others use 1st person has an important advantage. The Radar Cheat allows a mech to have its radar active, but other mechs will read it as being passive. This means a mech can use it's radar at full effectiveness (particularly BAP equipped mechs), but still have the advantage of being difficult to detect that being passive affords."
Read some of the replies to this article. I've noticed the problem with the reticle not staying on target - often when I'm trying to line up a shot my mech will start wobbling like a Weeble - it's very annoying.
I can't help but believe that there's some kinda auto-aimer out there. I've been cored way too many times by mechs that don't seem to need time to aim - they just pop up over cover at long range and BOOM! Instant CT hit. I've tried to replicate this, but it is impossible.
Me: Jump. Spot the target. Aim at the target. Fire. Miss.
Them: Jump. Fire. Nail CT.

Back in the day that i could play...
i used to be a damn good shot specialy with heavy hitter mechs with weapons of the same type. i used to realy well in a BK at times coreing out CTs. but ive been noticing the CT core forever. in fact ive been CTed to death alot by mechs that are faceing my full side of my mech. for the life of me i cant figure out how it happens but it does. rather its a cheat or not or a game bug who realy knows. if it is some kind of cheat, rather then 'auto aim' i believe it is probably something that makes every shot no matter where it land send the data to the other computers as a CT shot.
it pisses me off to no end that microsoft would not fix their products... being a builder if i built something screwed up im responsible to fix it under law. but i guess in their case its buyer beware. i actualy enjoyed mw3 more then any other mech game once i got used to the controls and how it worked. i felt it was the most realistic of all the mech games we have had produced. but in typical microsoft fasion concerning mechwarrior they are the very definition of 'customer no service'.
i mean realy ask yourself where would the game be if it wasnt for the btech community who cared for it like MekTek?

I just got (another) new joystick - a Saitek Cyborg EVO - it doesn't drift to the right and up like my previous stick (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro) which makes aiming a LOT easier as I don't have to continually compensate for the drift. I just tried it out online, much much better. No more reticle wobble.
This one is kinda light, tho, so in CoD fights with lots of turning it wants to slip and slide a bit. Of course, I have it sitting in a desk drawer on top some CD cases...

The FFP cheat made me laugh so hard I nearly pee'd my pants. I remember, back in the day, when ppl would bleat on about how 3rd person gave you no adavantage! I also remember when the 151 got involved in a test for the LBS* league. We proved that 3rd person gave you a major bonus and that you could sit behind a crest and gain lock-ons without exposing your mech. I also remember that the LBS still went ahead and allowed it! Mainly because certain leaders of other units threatened to take theirs toys home if they were not allowed 3rd person.
And now we discover a cheat that allows it! I've got to stop now, I'm laughing too much.

I here ya about MS man. You would think they would fix their own games and keep the public happy . I think they are just in the market of making more $ and have hired a bunch of newbie amatures to cut down on the cost of payroll and try to boost their capital. Most of the big computer companies over here are importing people or subletting work to India ( like MS ) CNN stated that about 200,000 people a year from India are actually being relocated to the US to take over the high paying jobs in the computer industry. I wish our government would intervene and start supplying out own nation with these white collar jobs.
As you know it’s not just the computer industry either. Many companies here in the US are subletting work over seas or across the border. But do these countries share our dreams ? Or are they just trying collect $ Cash to profit off us. I hear of highly qualified American computer techs being pushed aside all the time and are looking for lesser paying jobs. I also hear about slave labor in China and Mexico. And it’s not right. I think somebody in the Our Government should try to look beyond the all mighty dollar and actually think if what are doing is right or not , and then say something about it. I understand about trying to keep the world happy and let them in on some of the profits to better them self’s. I would like nothing more then a happy world so we could finally have world peace , But lets not be so blind that we can’t see our help is not really helping in some areas.
My brother has had an Indian resident as a boss recently and is actually lucky to still be working with Earthlink after they have been severed in half these last few years. They are closing so many plants in several states across this nation. Anyway , I have a feeling MS thinks they think are MS ! and will be on top of the competition for several years to come , I also think their Patten is up and they have better start looking over their shoulder. Someday ,.. some other company is going to give them a run for their money . We here are not alone when it comes to our own strong opinions about MS. I also believe half the upgrades you get from them are enhanced spy ware myself.
I’ll start playing some Planet Side when I get caught up here. ( which I’m starting too )
It’s just money is kind of tight for some of us and thinking about another monthly payment to play this game on line would be hard to commit too for the long run. I’m sure I’d get addicted to it within the first month but I need to make sure I can stay around without breaking any promises to the gang. I hope you understand this , even tho the cost may be cheap to play online, I just want to be sure I can give %100 all the time when I arrive there. So hold down the fort till then

Heh, I read something about MS a while back - I don't remember now what the heck it was or where I read it - maybe in a computer magazine - but whatever it was, it ticked me off enough that I haven't upgraded Windows since (except for DX9b). Hmm, seems like it was something about the next version of Windows, elements of which were already being introduced into the current version via the upgrades... Falk, you have any idea what I'm talking about?
Anyway, I'm hyper-cautious about Windows and would stick with Linux exclusively if not for the games.

Yea the subletting thing sucks. at first it was the migrating farm workers, and now this. i mean i understand why they are used. most markets are highly competive and believe it or not balances on a razor blade for companies. so if they do use these other options they can at least stay competitive with pricing and still give us, the pulblic a decnt product. Now this can be good to the economy and the buyers of the products, however alot of the farm jobs that have been taken over by the migrant workers used to be done by highschoolers during the summer time, etc. you dont know how many crates of stawberries ive picked! ( and eaten BTW) i coudlnt do that now becuse i just cant move like the migrant workers can hehe. well now the problem with the subletting it is now hitting the low level buisness industries. all these jobs that are being outsorced used to be the jobs that those starting in buisness took to get work history for resumes etc. i usualy stay away from political discussions here on the forum so i will keep this minor just to warn ppl about what is being shown to use as americans and what is actualy out there. Kerry has bashed Bush about outsourcing recently on comercial adds, but it is documented that his wifes family company (hientz? i think) outsourced 72% of their jobs to other countries, at first it was mainly canada, but recently countries like india. its things like these that make me so damn suspicious about anything being said on the political front.
as to microstoft producing spyware? probably and most likly in a subtle way. maybe in some not so subtle ways even. so far i dont realy care about that just simply becuse i use this puter mainly for games and thats it, i dont have any good credit so i dont use credit cards so i dont have that info on my puter, nore do i have a checking/savings account info on here either. maybe Gates just dont know how to search for good porn web sites so he trying to get the info off my puter ;) hehehe
Linux would seem cool just to learn about, its a growing force in the OS market and would simply be worth to learn about it just to keep up. it seems powerfull in alot of practical ways too. it could be safer i guess on hte client side of things. however i just keep thinking of all the info that flows threw the net. you could have the most safe puter in the world and i would damn near garentee that at least one of the puters your data goes threw from point A to Point B would be a microsoft server of some kind.
Falker about the planetside thing, dont worry man. i know exactly what your talking about getting involved with something and then bailing becuse of finances ( being that ive done that more then once. recall the 19th cav thing?) all i can say is if you got into it and HAD to bail there would be no hard feelings from the likes of me and you would be welcomed back anytime. i think you know this though and its a personel thing about being deticated that gets to you when you cant be ( if your like me hehe) what i did was went the game card route, i couldnt afford the yearly subscription becuse its a 100.00 buks and i dont have a credit card or anything that can act like one. so what i did was went with the game card route. i buy a game card at my local PC game shop. so now im garanteed i can be on for at least 3 months. ( 4 becuse you get a free month when you buy the game) and i hope like hell i can get another one when this one runs out. thats the best i can do at this point. the cool thing about the game though, is there is alot of stuff you can do on your own as well as with a outfit. and it even serves the outfit to play by yourself too being you gain experience points and can get critical certs for when your outfit decides to raid a contenent or something. for me its alot of fun. i cant play mechy so i play this. its competitive which i like, there is alot of skill involved which i like too. ( specialy for the aircraft pilots) its just a good all around game, if mechwarrior comes back with something playable for me i can just let my subscription go. i mean there were times ive spent more then 20 a month on games to beat them that very month... so far i havnt been able to 'beat' this
Punch stoped by ELH coms last night and sounded like he was interested in this game too. perhaps we can get a ELH rolling on PS and show these boys how its done!

Dekyras works for one of the US banks over here in England. He was tasked with costing the move of certain operations over to India. After doing lots of hard maths and consulting with other companies, that are doing a similar thing, he came up with theanswer that it was actually not cost effective. This answer so upset senior guys, that had nailed their colours to this plan, he was summoned to Pittsburgh to explain his findings. Strangely they still went through with it.

Some of our own government personal ( and many reporters doing the research ) actually have said something about this and also provided the evidence to the public , that this is having an impact on the structure of the United States.
The main reason that’s it’s not working out in some areas is that the profits these countries make form here are not being put back into our economy. Thus we loose . There are only two parties making out on this deal . The company that trades with them and the beneficiary that takes all the profit for their own .
I hear ya about Politics BH , You got to be careful with that. I apologize for bringing it up. I just try to take a step back and look at why it’s gotten that way. Some of my better friends were born and raised to pledged their elegance to a certain government party. I think some of them are near sighted or blind myself and I tried to explain it to them once or twice. Some folks just don’t see the big picture and are only paying attention to the hear and now. There's nothing you can do about it most cases , so I just try to be friends regardless.
Ya know ,..we all have the same molecules in us that makes us all brothers. We were Born from the same Big Bang that blew up and started the expansion of the universe over 7 Billion years ago. Does that mean we have something in common with aliens too ? .......
