Thx all... Yes, Raptor is a smartass. Been landing in Falcon 4 for quite a while - most of the time successfully! :)

I am not so sure I enjoy landing yet - still a bit much going on there for me.

Not solo - that is next week...

172 Hawk XP II is the plane... Amazing plane...the power is incredible, and the damn thing won't stall. We did a power on go around stall today and had to get it under 40 knots to stall it (it was actually slower) and pitched at about 50 degrees. You would have to be a total moron to do that accidentally!

I dare say we have the best looking Cessna at Montgomery Airport...and probably the best equipped.

50 degrees nose up? Probably not...it was probably more like 15. Standard power-on stalls for us are around 12 degrees nose up, but I agree that the aircraft does NOT want to stall. We fly Cessna 172SP's fully loaded and maintained. As for speed...you damn better be under 40 knots!!! :) :) My current low airspeed record is 35 knots groundspeed according to the GPS. Of course the headwind helps! My instructor says he's actually slown backwards before, with the right wind. Just make sure you stay coordinated! That inclinometer's snapped at my butt more than once.

I've got my first cross country on Saturday, should be a 150NM+ trip.
