I tried running my antispyware in safe mode and I shut off system restore as one website suggested. But no luck. I'm going to try this process again, but I will delete cookies and such before rebooting this time. Perhaps that might help as well. In any case, nothing seems to be really working which means that I will probably have to forego ghosting my c drive and just do a fresh install. THe only thing I'm really missing is NERO., which kinda pisses me off. I liked that prog and don't have another copy. I will probably do a fresh HD install within the next few weeks, as soon as I've got things squared away.

Hey guys! Hope you all remember me. Just a suggestion on your popup problem. First, can you locate the directory of the installed program? Or is it a program, it may have installed a certificate that grants rights to certain sites. Do you remember which site you were at? It may be possible to return to the site and find removal instructions. Also, if it installed an actuall program and you have the original install exe rerun it with a /u at the end of the command line. Spyware and adware have really gotten nasty with the way the get them on your pc now days. Also, if you have the url post it, we may be able to help if we can determine its type. Hope this helps.
