Favorite Television Shows:

Awhile back I was without Cable or Satellite for several weeks and during that time I had no choice but to watch the local channels. So since then I’ve found a few Sitcoms that are pretty good and I still watch them today.

The King Of Queens -- I about bust a gut every time I watch this one.

House -- This is a mature hospital show that’s incredibly entertaining. Also very humorous.

NCSI Crime is way better than CSI Crime

There’s also a show called Tru Calling with Jason Priestly who portrays the roll of a grim reaper. The show is mildly intertaining and also hard to find on TV anymore.

That’s about it :)

On Cable =

I still watch SG1

Star Trek (TOS), The X-files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, The Sopranos, CSI. BTW, the girl from Tru Calling (Eliza Dushku) was Faith, the other Vampire Slayer.

I used to watch loads of television but now i only watch DVD/Videos i don't hardly watch any TV programs, i think it would be about acurate to say i watch about 1 hour of actual broadcast television a month if i'm lucky and that's only when the TV is on before i put a DVD or Video on.

I have most of Star-Treks on Video (all versions)

Babylon 5 1st series on video.

And i have quite a few British comedy sketch shows on DVD and Video as well.

But due to my working hours TV sits off all week till saturday and sunday night and then it's DVD time!

Why the hell i pay over £100 a year for a TV licence when i dont watch anything on it i don't know ! (other than i have to by law of course)

I used to watch "The Benny Hill Show" all the time with my dad when I was growing up. In retrospect, most of the shows were quite silly but I always loved it when they made any references to World War I or II in their sketches. Of course, Monty Pythons Flying Circus will always be my #1 British tv show. I also watched Dr. Who quite regulary back in the late 70's and early 80's. The guy who was Dr. Who at the time was really tall and skinny and he had an afro! I think his last name was Baker.

Yes Tom Baker. He is considered by most fans to be the best doctor ever. I've watched nearly all the Dr. Who episodes on video. I love the series.

Have any of you seen the new Doctor Who series?

I have seen 3 episodes (usually been at my sisters at the time) and dissapointingly the budget for it hasn't changed all the episodes i have seen are set in Britain in todays time zone and the monsters/aliens are pathetic.

Well pathetic compared to what can be done today if this new series was made back in the early eighties or late seventies it would be all right but this is 2005 and the BBC has just not put any effort into launching a brand new up to date version of Doctor Who at all.

That and they made a mistake for selecting the new Doctor. Not because he's a bad actor or anything actually he is quite a good doctor but after they finished making the first series the guy decides he doesn't wan't to be pigeon holed as being the Doctor and decides not to play the Doctor anymore, so the BBC have to find another Doctor for any more series they plan to make and since the Doctor Who character has only 12 lives he is now running short of lives.

Almost forgot to mantion the inside of the Tardis over the many Dr Who series has taken slow but generally progressive steps towards modernisation up until now that is! The inside of the Tardis looks like the inside of a cave or something! Basically it's a mess.

I remember reading something about that. Too bad because Christopher Eccleston is a very talented actor in my opinion. I first saw him as the Duke of Norfolk in the movie "Elizabeth" which also starred Cate Blanchett. He also did an excellent job as a British Army officer in the horror film "28 Days".

Doctor Who? DOCTOR WHO, that's WHO!!! Anyway, John Pertwee was the best Doctor IMHO. But this series belongs back in the 70s, 80s alongside Blake's 7 etc., Monty Python, The Diddy Men.
These days, Charmed is ok for 'viewing' purposes, and a few other odds and sods (Give it a few years and Mary Kate & Ashley will be on the 'viewing' list too!!

I watched Charmed through several seasons; kept hoping it would live up to its potential, but it never did. For me, anyway. Then again, BtVS spoiled me.

For me:

Family Guy

South Park

Lost

Stargate SG-1

Stargate Atlantis

Battlestar Galactica (new one)

Tru Calling was cancelled, BTW, and only 6 episodes of the 2nd season were filmed. They were all aired this spring, I believe.

If you want to bring up TV shows no longer on the air, I could give you a long list, but suffice to say it's sci-fi heavy. :)

My TV time is very, very limited. I spend more time on the comp. However, I do enjoy West Wing (political intrigue is interesting), Battlestar Galactica, SG1 mainly. Star Trek reruns when available and I've got the time. I'm mainly a scifi/military nut. If there was a good fantasy show on, I'd probably watch it, but I've yet to find one worth the time. Years back, say 94, they ran a pilot of a doctor serving out his tenure on a strange planet where strange things can happen. Very cool fantasy, but it did'nt catch on unfortunately.

I gave the West Wing a shot a couple years ago and watched a few episodes but the writers made no bones about what their PERSONAL political beliefs were and that turned me off to the show.

Ditto

I also grew up watching Benny Hill. About half of the time I watched the entire episode just so I could see several chicks chasing Benny down the hill in the end. :)

I used to be a big X-Files Nut , But since the show was canceled I moved on. However I still watch X-Files today looking for a good one.

Babylon 5 was cool. I didn’t like Sinclair’s girl friend tho who kept changing and evolving into who knows what. Her character was rather dry I thought. Captain Susan Ivanova was a hottie ( aka Claudia Christain ) I saw her in a movie called “ The Hidden “ She played the part of an Exotic Dancer and was wearing a J-String as she crawled up the stage looking all hot and eager. Nice. :)

I’m also was a big Star Trek watcher. They were all interesting. I was just wonder why they keep repeating the Deep Space 9 series on the Sc-Fi Channel. They should show Star Trek Voyager with Captain Janway and Seven Of Nine. I know a few people who don’t like the captain but realistically if there ever was a Federation in the future it would likely have woman Captains who need to man up and take charge.

So far no one has mentioned Space: Above and Beyond. I thought that was a cool series. Watching the new series of Battlestar Galatia reminds me of it. The only thing Battlestar Galatia needs to do now is GET RID OF BALTAR , and his imaginary fried , .. and get on with exploring new planets and making new allies.

Watching Baltar getting intimate with himself and talking to someone who is all in his head ( due to silon implant ) for half of the show is just not That interesting. Seeing explosive combat and real life and death on the battle grounds is what I’m talking about. I think this whole idea of Silon’s looking like humans was a mistake. They should have followed the normal protocol of the first series and made good of the special effects and new stories.

Star Gate Atlantis is starting to pick up. I still got my eye on it and am waiting for some good stories. It was a new crew with new actors in the beginning and they are finally starting to relax and become comfortable in their rolls to make it more real like. Ill tune in to see the Prometheus 2 come to save the day when the series starts up again.

I’m not sure what will happen to SG1. Tilk has been working out , that’s for sure . His arms are all bulging. I always thought he could have learned some better fighting skills tho. He seems to be taken down in combat a little too often. Also Samantha Carter and the rest of SG1 should have known better then to let the Replica’s get a foot hold on the off world alpha site , and believe that they could be allied

Space 1999 was an old favorite. I haven’t seen it on TV tho in about 20 years. :?

I listened to Dr. Demento on the Radio back in the 70’s Does that count ??

Heh, I don't think the problem with Janeway was that she was a woman, but rather that she was Janeway. If ya see what I mean.

I saw a relatively recent interview with her. She uh...has packed on quite a bit of weight.

Anyway, I am now currently watching the DVD's for season 2 and I'm absolutely loving the show. I like Sinclair but Sheridan is even better.
