French Foreign Legion

Post by Falker »

There’s so many Army games to buy at the store these days. Navy Seals , GR , Army Special Forces. But none of the games include the French Foreign Legion.

French Foreign Legion has been around for over a 150 years and has become one of the finest military mercenary units in the world. With the Legion being made up of men from a wide variety of nationalities you would think someone should have put two and two togather and made a great PC game out of it.

Did it ever occur to you, that it's connection to the French may be holding that back! Let me tell you, in the 'civilised' western world, the only people I know hated more than the French - is the French Canadians!

Mind you, thinking about that, there is also no such game for the SAS, SBS. But at least they have been honoured with many fine mods within other games.

Both of these games are about SAS operations. But I guess you'll never enjoy them since you wont buy them.

I suppose that depends on your definition of "modern."

We're not talking about cavalry, muskets, etc here! They've got assault rifles, jets, grenades, tanks, etc.

well, Falker said the last 150 years. i guess it depends upon what someone wishes to call modern. WW2 was still a modern war when compared to the entire history of warring man...

Falker,
one reason may be that very little is actually known about the FFL, and they are generally put only into the worst of situations so they are not known for glory - although they are a very good fighting force.

Kodiak get over it. WWII is a cool sim era. period. and if you played HD2, you'd love it. But you won't because you know that you will love it and then you'll be on the comp even more. hahahahahah. Admit it you know I'm right!

OMG! You lot get over yourselves, this man is not for turning - you will not cheat me the way you did with IL-2. My interrogation technique is stronger now, stronger than my father's before me . . . yadda yadda yadda!! Anyway, keep your 'modern' ( ) warfare.

Man, we ain't even started yet, so you can join in if you can find familiar territory to stand on. It doesn't matter who's side you're on mate - it's just idle banter, and a bit of fun. The rules are simple, don't forget to add smileys (indication of good humoured banter), no personal attacks and getting serious, and if it gets too much just PM whoever and explain how you feel. Done. 8)
