they've been running a special on it over at gogamer.com

Kodiak - does it seem that much different from our tacboards? worth an upgrade?

Well, it seems well designed etc etc., but my biggest concern is the pre-allocation of the buttons. Unlike on our tacboards where you have A1-A9, T1-T7 and so on, you find on this that particular positioned buttons are allocated keyboard letters, and hence keyboard commands. The problem here is that my "Reload" button (R in most games) is allocated where I have preference for it. On this new pad, it is pre-allocated to another position. The way round that of course is to simply change the keyboard command. But that is likely to cause more problems than messing with the programming of the TacBoard itself, IMHO. Done correctly, there should be no problems, in theory. But, in theory is exactly that. Practically speaking is another matter.
If you have the money to spend, maybe it's worth getting simply to compare. But it's only advantage that I can see, and it's a small one, is the illuminated pad, for playing in the dark.

those keys are default - you can program them - at least it says so... they may well mean changing stuff in-game though.

Yeah mate. I'm happy with the keys being programable, but it's the fact that the label on the button is not so much generic but tied to a specific letter, or "button" on the keyboard, not electronically you understand, simply because it says so on that particular button. If you see what I mean.
