no we are not really having problems... we have worked out a workaround.

we have not flown flaming cliffs, so if your goal is to fly MP with the group just consider that. don't want you to waste your money.

We WANT to fly FC. The problem is scheduling.
Since EVERYONE doesn't have it, when people show up online it only takes one person NOT having it to scrub it for that night in favor of something that everyone there has.
There's the added problem that during the week differing timezones wreak havoc on our schedules. This means the weekend is the best time, but many people only are available to show up Friday or Saturday (but not both).
So what it boils down to is either
A) everyone in our group needs to have the same games so we never have the "I don't have that game issue" or
B) we need more people online so that we could actually split into two groups and have 2 separate games going (ie OFP and LOMAC).

I think B requires more people in WOF, A requires both more money and more time from those already here. :)

Maybe we should all have the Softball Games List. If HE doesn't have it, it's not worth getting, but if he does, we should have it to! ;)

It's been kinda hectic for me lately but I'll start showing up for Lock On starting next Monday. I'll see you then. I'm pretty sure Jedi can show up as well.

We'd love to have you join us for Lock On! See you soon.

Don't base how good a game is, on whether I have it or not. LOL!

I sometimes buy games that are so so to some people, but I enjoy playing it myself. I love RTS games, but I usually only play them with a couple friends that have the game. I have the following RTS games that I play when I have time (Usually weekends), Warhammer 40k DOW, C&C Generals + Exp, Codename Panzers Phase I & II, Rise of Nations + Exp, Empire Earth II, Rome Total War + Exp.

I'll have to brush up on my Lock On skills by Monday it seems. I will also have to adjust the stick sensitivity on my HOTAS, because when I fly in Lock On, the bobbing effect really bugs the hell out of me.

Monday night was supposed to F4 AF but that hasn't worked out, especially for me. Typically I get screwed with lots of work for the rest of the week even though I pretty much work all weekend long. So sorry I have not been around. I'm thinking of running a Falcon 4 night on Saturdays as well since a lot of us have it and like it.

I have a suggestion for our WOF group then. How about:

Monday: Lock On
Friday: IL-2
Saturday: Falcon AF

Any ideas? Feedback?

That's good as I know I for one can't always show on Sat nites. However, since F4:AF is a "join and leave at will" game that's fine as compared to say OFP or LOMAC where if someone shows up mid-mission they may have to sit around for awhile.
I think F4 on Saturday is a fine idea for that reason, although again if consensus points elsewhere I'm usually pretty flexible. ;)

i will probably never be flying af then...

you all are starting to sound like my wife, wanting to change things all the time. we JUST settled on a schedule for fridays. why would we change it again?

we had already worked this out. the only thing we were going to set was friday night flight sim, alternating il2 and falcon. then we started talking about fc and when to fly that as most folks that show on fridays do not have it. it was determined monday would be best. as the fc folks could probably show then. other than this there is no schedule. and in spite of no schedule, i have been getting plenty of gaming in...

LOL. Let me guess, she wants to keep changing the arrangement of the furniture at your house? My wife does that all the freaking time.

Anyway, about the flying schedule; either one is fine with me. I was just bringing up another suggestion. My main concern is finally getting to fly Lock On:FC with you guys.

OMG! Friggin funny story time . . . . . . . . .
I arrived back home (1st wife) after some 4 months in Canada a few years back. It was real late (about 0400hrs) and decided not to wake the wife immediately, but pop through the livingroom to the kitchen and grab a bite to eat. had my bergen on my back, with webbing/helmet wrapped around the top, a drop bag slung across my chest, kit bag in one hand and carryall bag in the other. It's pitch black as I walk in and I decide not to put the lights on. I nudge the livingroom door open and creep quietly through the gap jiggling my kit so it doesn't get caught on the wall. The best thing to do here was to move into the middle of the room and dump the gear in the wide open space. Only, unbeknown to me, the world has been re-orged, and I bump into the coffee table at knee level. Balance gone, I sprawl forwards releasing my kit as I go trying to get my hands out. I connect with the TV unit using my head (fortunately - NOT! I was wearing a baseball cap??) And finally as I rolled over to get up the TV fell on me. The final straw was, having picked myself up and tended my wounded pride - the wife wakes up, mistakes me for a burglar trying to nick the TV as I put it back on the TV unit, and I got belted round the lug in the pitch black with a 6 iron. Welcome home darling!
