i often considered taking my dogs in the plane with me, but then thought about how hard it would be on their hearing...while the humans sit there with noise protecting headsets...

Surely there must be something for dogs available, especially over there in the US!? They seem to have everything you can imagine for sale. maybe you oughta design and make something - shouldn't be too hard to do with a little advice from the local vet?
