I've not been able to use any of my analogue controllers for a couple of years now, due to the fact that my mobo has no game port, and the one on my sound card has an I/O confliction that I cannot fix. I was doing a google search for some stick grips, and I heard about these analogue-to-USB adaptor thingys. This is the only one I can find at a cursory glance:

Has anyone else here had any experience with devices of this type?

You may be able to de-conflict inb a roundabout fashion by removing all devices, and prioritising the gameport by installing the soundcard first, then everything else one by one. Long-winded, but worth considering.

Been through all the resources, can't find another device that's using that specific I/O range (0201-0201). It may even be that that is a range that does not exist (or something to that effect). It would appear that I can't change anything because I'm not the administrator, but I'm logged on with the account that has (in every other respect) administrative powers.

I actually intended for you to physically uninstall and re-install all components one by one - not just software. THEN install windows, followed by whatever else you need.

Gah, I've got so much on there, I'm not planning on uninstalling/reinstalling Windows any time soon, unless all the stuff on my HDD stays exactly where it is.
