Display Techniques

Post by KODIAK »

The other week we were all discussing projectors and their pros & cons. I just stumbled on this over @ SimHQ, and thought you guys would find it an interesting read. The reviewer himself sounds somewhat enthusiastic about the results of the testing he undertook. The very same idea has crossed my mind a dozen times, the only thing that spoils the idea for me is the resolution limitations.

i have been considering one of the vr headsets, but they are limited by resolution and a few other aspects, unless you want to spend way too much money on them...

so it looks like projector or large lcd is the way to go for now.

Agreed! I don't mind shelling out money for something that has everything I want, but I think I'd rather wait a while until we see better resolutions for these. I am tempted by the ability to simply move my head and be looking where I would really be looking.
If I get the urge, perhaps I'll order one to test drive it for a day or two. Possibly couple it with my own TIR3Pro, and make my own mind up. He does mention the resolution limitation isn't as 'noticeable' using the headset. Might be worth a look at least.
