Hades is in Sweden and he hasn't reported any lag problems in the couple years he has been a member. And we used to have a WOF member in South Korea who also did not have any lag issues. I think we are just as likely to have lag issues intra-US as Internationally. i think the quality of the connection to the internet and the speed of the modem and the quality of the computer have more to do with lag than geography - but I am certainly not an expert in this area.

Madrus is correct... If you are on dialup you are going to have lag, and if you have a slow PC that will just exacerbate the issue. Some DSL lines are not that great either. Most of the games coming out now do not even recommend playing MP without a broadband connection! When you move back, look for a place that has good broadband connectivity.

Yup have to agree with Steele and Madrus on this!
As far as my Connex is concerned i am currently on a 1/2 meg Broadband connection which has given me no lag issues with any of the Sims i play OL these include Falcon SP3, IL2, JF-18 and i also have OFP but have not played this OL with the squad yet but i would presume that i would have no problems with that either.
I also have had Dial up 56K connex for a few months after i moved house in November and could not get any better connex than 36000bps (36kbs)with my dial up and most of the time i only got 33600bps (33.6Kbs) since having a 56Kbs modem does not guarantee 56Kbs dial up connex
But even with this poor connex i still managed to get OL with the guys for Falcon every week and still have fun but had to put up with at least one (usually 2) cut offs during the night!! ( but nothing to bad) and i put this down to me having to connect at 33.6Kbs for falcon with the guys and then have to squeeze in RW in there as well causing some bandwith loss and dissconnect.
In short you should be fine for connecting from Norway as long as you go for a Broadband connection and even with dial up you can still have fun but Lag and dissconect do rear their ugly heads in this situation!
My main problem at the moment is poor PC specs! My poor old PIII 500Mhz and 16Meg rage 128 card have had their day, i am now getting bad bootups and unexplained shutdowns a couple of times a week (I think the Mobo is about to die on me ) but it has lasted a good 5 years, 4 of which have been totally trouble free!
Good luck on your move hope every thing goes well!!
P.S. i think you will have to also consider the different time zone as a big downside to moving back this way, since if it wasn't for me working a twilight shift 16:00 - 00:30 then i would not be able to join the guys on most nights as i usually go OL with the guys here at 03:00 and am up till 5 or 6 in the morning Monday and Tuesday nights for F4 or IL2 but i don't get up till 12:00 or 13:00 so it doesn't affect me!
