How about that? I can sit in the classroom, mess around with computer server units, AND get to watch the Farnborough Air Show at the same time!!
Today there was a bit of F-16, F-18 stuff going on. There was an awesome display by the Sukhoi SU-27 doing it's usual fab routine. And I am sure caught a glimpse of the F-35 flying overhead, and even the Raptor if I saw properly. Not sure it was a bit far away at the time, but that tailplane seemed quite distinct.

No, but I tell you what, that was a real classy film! Jack Nicholson was brilliant. All those ever so subtle facial expressions, and fronty comments had me in tears.

Perhaps no flying demos, but it wasn't in a demo flight pattern. It simply flew overhead, probably at around circuit speeds. Maybe it was just flying-into the airfield, dunno. But given the profile, it looked very much like the F-35 especially by the tailplane. So the only other alternatives could probably have been F-22, maybe F-18 (just didn't look like it though)

Is this what you saw Kodiak.
I also found some good links for the F-35 tech specs and such.

Well guys, I wasn't looking at it from that angle! LOL! But I do appreciate you trying to give me some indications. It was one of them 'Monty' moments. I looked at it and that was my immediate impression from an underneath view as it flew overhead. But by the time I saw it, it was a rather flat angle and well away. But of course, you're right most likely an F-18, and most unlikely to be a F-22 at this point in the airshow proceedings. later in the day I noticed the same aircraft flying around again, but it looked more like the Raptor this time, and it was flanked in a manner of speaking by what was definitely an F-18 this time.
Anyway, today the Osprey was up again, along with the BAe Harrier (RAF), and a very good display by what loked like the Rafale from a distance.
I also note that they have designated the F-35 - Lightning II. Continuation of a legacy, not only for the USAF & USAAF, but also the RAF. I guess that was inevitable, given the last-minute alteration of the F-22 to Raptor, when it was supposed to have been named Lightning II in honour of the man who made it all happen some years ago, whatever his name was. LOL!
