Well, this was, once again, an awesome operation. Col. McKnight actually put me in charge of two of the missions, one was aborted due to our fire (see next sentence) and the other we won. We did a little firefighting due to a smoke grenade, it was really hot (around 100 fahrenheit) on Saturday, and all of the participants were awesome and perservered anyway (although it is amazing how some of us old folks still run circles around these kids). Believe it or not, I actually won something of consequence in the raffle. A TM M-4, signed by MSG Mullen!!! I also made quite a few new friends and acquaintances. The Hatchet Force are a very cool and dedicated group of airsofters. The Roughnecks were there once again, and had a female contingent as well. The SpecWar folks were also in attendance, as well as some of the Cimmerians and The Regiment. Many other folks that were not members of any team were repeast from last year and it seems that everyone had a great time! The attendance was over double of last year's event. My platoon was around 45 people. Other VIP's at the game were retired MSG Bobrowski (sp?) and Sgt. Kenn Miller. MSG Bobrowski was a Hatchet Force team member (MACV-SOG if you know anything about it) in 'Nam.
