Post by BlackHawk*K »

im not sure how possible it is or if its even wanted. but ive run across some forums that has this and it seems pretty nice.

i know if we had it i would probably use it to hang out in to chat at ppl. what do you guys think?

Steel, have you heard of it and how much trouble is it if you have?

just an idea.

Ok I am assuming this is a chat program for the web site. I can see this useful for day time when we are at work yet still checking forms. Could catch people online to ask questions and plan the games we play friday night and so on.

yea veg, from what ive seen of em, they just like to the forums here, you log on with same user/pass. the ones ive seen seem fully functional too. some of em seem to have a user list on their forums too so you know who was actualy in chat.

the idea was what you said above. plus, being able to just chat with ppl as a group would be cool. instead of PMing them 1on1. also you wouldnt have to worry about talking over somoene in coms either.

you could always connect to the ventrilo server and go into chat...

i do not know that i will have time to look at implementing this any time soon though. i HAVE to get a new e-mail server running (ask Raptor and Katana...).

Ok the issue with ventrilo is that we can't relay have that at work as such. My work laptop stays free of anything like that. I don't think there is ANY rush on this if you decide to do it tho.

also ?? besides you Steel is there anyone wiht access to your machines for remote access as we did have fun last week for a day when the forms and everything went down.

yea no presure or anything steel, its was just an idea i thought i would bring up. thought it might be someting worth looking into.

good point that veg put out was that since its flash, you dont need an application DLed to join in.

does the xfire or vent or any of those has a full room with text? besides the little box at the bottom?

the chat i seen reminded me alot of kali to be honest. it supported PMs as well as room creation, passwording etc. also admins could be made to ppl who log on for chat control. was fairly in deapth. i will look for the maker of the flashchat thingy and see if i can get a link to it.

this is some of what i found.

here is a web site, http://www.tufat.com/script2.htm

its 10 users per room. which isnt too bad i guess. since i doubt we would have more then 5 or so at any one time. and if so we could have a few rooms to take the over fill.

its can be intergrated into phpbb ( im not sure about phpbb2 like or forum says it is.) with all the new ppl showing up it would be fun to chat with em :P i know its not as good as voice coms. but i always get tired of talking over ppl or them talking over me. and this would be something we just click and your there. at work and at home etc.

i will look into it some more.
