Pitch Black (the movie)

Post by PanzerMeyer »

I watched Pitch Black again last night and something struck me quite profoundly even though I've seen this movie about 3-4 times previously. What struck me is just how much this movie's success was based on Vin Diesel and his Riddick character. I mean, you take him out and all you really have is a standard sci-fi plot about a bunch of people who crash land on an unknown planet and then eventually start getting killed off by some aliens/monsters. I'm not saying that Vin Diesel is some genious actor but he was just so believable and terrific in this movie. He just pulled it off perfectly.

Has anyone here seen this movie?

I own it as well as the The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury(Animated movie between pitchblack and The Chronicles of Riddick Dark Fury http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chroni ... _Dark_Fury) and The Chronicles of Riddick ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chronicles_of_Riddick )

I love the character itself and so dose Vin Diesel which is why he is wanted to do the latest movie qand did it rather cheep to. but to be hoenst yo need the specific ridick character or pitch black would be a b movie on a A movie budget. Alos sound sliek there is going to be 2 more movies as per Vin Diesel who said he was involved in the scripts. Like I said he loves the Riddick character.

info on the character

also note there is a drinking game based on Chronicles of Riddick. Every time he lists his glassless/goggles take a shot. 20 min and you are drunk
