I have MechWarrior 4 Vengeance in a bin file.- 635mb - I wonder if the Portal excepts large files like that. Then maybe someone could put MW-Merc in a bin or iso file to share with everyone here.

edit:
I use a good program called MagicISO to convert files to bin or iso. It can also copy a cd or extract files to your computer and is more useful than Nero I think. I wonder if the forum admin will allow some programs or games to be uploaded to the portal. That would be cool.

edit:
ok. I found this post from Steel so maybe it could be done with an ftp.

Steel Quote: K - the file size limit for using the upload script (aka. upload button in the download section) is at 50MB. It was much lower, but I just changed it. For larger files we will use the ftp server to upload and then link to the files in the upload settings for the particular file.

To be honest with you guys, I can probably host a dedicated server if I can remember how (Mech4) or something similar. I don't think I can play mech on my laptop though. I already have Battlecom and Megemek runningon it, so I don't think it would be a problem......

would be best if someone tested to see if the NBT files and the mektek files would work with a cue/bin burned disk. i believe you are required to get the PR1 patch and perhaps others to install the mektek files etc. if so then it is possible that the .exe file wont recognize the disk. but, steel did mention he thinks they may of included a no cd patch in the mektek stuff ( or i THINK he did?? ) if thats the case then it shouldnt be a problem.

Falker, one thing you could do, is split the file into 50 meg segments. probably could use winrar or even winzip. those are the two most popular ones. they do have other file splitters though.
