The Daylight Savings change: no savings, no point

Wow what a surprise, the change in daylight savings did nothing for the power consumption. Ok I like the extra hr of light in the afternoon, but the main goal never happened. Just meant a lot of work for computer geeks like me to make sure systems did not go down because of this. It was like a mini Y2K. also brings to mind the morons who where on the news saying Y2K was nothing, overblown, ya ok and nothing happened because Billions of dollars went into fixing the issue. those so called experts need to be whipped. Interesting read tho.

Daylight savings is a complete waste of time or it is here in Blighty anyway.

Originally introduced during WW2 to help the farmers get an extra hours work done with the available sunrise, sunset times. Why didn't they just get up earlier or work later instead??? It's not as if the change in the clocks actually gives you an extra hours daylight all it changes is what time it rises and sets.

Nowadays the only reason it is kept going here is that nuggets scream loudly when it is suggested it is stopped pointing out that school children would have to walk to school in the dark winter mornings and risk getting knocked down. Ok Fair enough but the thing is 2 weeks later it is just as dark in the mornings as it was before the clocks changed so why bother with something that only makes 2 weeks worth of difference to the sunrise time?? And if you want to have that extra hours light to work with either get up early or work later!

And less children might actually be a good thing! Oh but then we might get taken over by the muslims cause we have less children in 20 years or something.
