Blackhawk Down

Post by Madrus »

Great sim! Finished sp campaign. 16 missions. Music is great. Action gets intense. Ride on Little Birds, Blackhawks, Humvees. .50 cal action from Humvees is cool. AI is a little slow and inaccurate, even on Operator setting; most of your problems is seeing the AI or they come up behind you. Plenty of saves to get through any mission.

Hope we get some MP Co-op missions for this. Right now only adversarial in MP. I think only Raptor, Softball, and myself have this.

IWAS looking around downtown for this game last week or two, mainly cos someone wanted to buy it in our forum - was sure I'd seen it around for about C$30, but must have been mistaken. Sorry guys . . . . . .

I was able to obtain an "extended demo" version of the game. Pretty cool stuff.

Any walkthroughs for the Mogadishu Mile mission, I'm stuck there too.

The Mogadishu Mile - ahhh yes. One of the best missions. Lots of time and sweat to beat that one.

1. Keep ahead of convoy - yes, you gotta run ahead of a convoy to protect it.

2. Use your saves wisely - I needed all of them. Get as far as you can with good health with each save.

3. BTW, did you figure out that your health powerups and ammo powerups are located on the map with tiny blue squares? Took me several missions to figure that one out

4. You have to knock out the RPG's before they get the convoy or you. So look for them behind you, hidden in windows, around corners. this is where your saves come in. Find out where the RPG hit you from and keep on going back to your last save until you at least beat that RPG or the next before you use another save. Remember that your saves overwrite - that is, when you start at save 5, go as far as you can and save 6. go back to save 5 and restart. keep on trying to extend farther and farther from save 5. each time you go farther, save again if it is farther than your previous save 6. it will overwrite your previous save 6.

5. I played the whole campaign on "operator" but I would still be playing the campaign if I did not have saves. I think i used almost all the saves (8 out of 9) to pass Mogadishu Mile.

6. i quickly get into shooting everything that moves. hehehehe. But they thought of that too - if you shoot too many friendlies, you fail the mission.

7. Damn, I like shooting those punks that are mouthing off to you and throwing rocks - "go away, leave us alone" yeah, right - BURST - after you, punk. say hello to Allah for me.

8. Darwin award - who in the hell walks around the streets throwing rocks at people with automatic weapons?

9. If all else fails, you can always upgrade to electronic armor and a BFG from Unreal 2003 by selecting it from the drop down menu in the options. You are then indestructible with unlimited ammo. Sort of like the engine upgrade in IL2. Those IL2's fly much better with Merlin's.

I can just hear Steel:
"Saves?"
"Health power ups????"
"Ammo power ups?????????"
"Weapon power ups ????????????"
"What game are they playing!?"

i was thinking the same thing. hehehe

the bullets don't hurt either. and i get to play it over and over. i am never tired. strong as an ox. never thirsty - well wait a minute! i do get thirsty.

Steel does have a point - but this game is still a blast!
