The above article depicts images and information which has been verified to be fake. This is not an accurate comparison between DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 as some of the images were not rendered, in fact, purely painted concept art.

is DX10 even out yet? I know it did not ship with vista....but now?

It DID ship with Vista. I don't know how many actual DirectX 10 capable graphics cards are out right now (8800 and new ATI cards MAYBE?), but DirectX 10 is alive and kicking in Vista.

It will NOT be available for Windows XP which ire's many people, as it seems a gimic to prompt people to upgrade...

But you can note the DirectX version in the following screenshot for yourself:

I started to read a few of the post below the pic's and they were funny. Never looked down at the bottom of the page tho. I was just looking for something I could get Steel with besides another written opinion. Someday there will be hard evidence that dx-10 looks better , even way than dx-9 , but not today. =]


On a personal note.
I compared the two myself and found that dx-10 does look better Although I’ll need a better graphics card to try it out on other games. If fact , that’s just it…. I think dx-10 wont look better on older games made for dx-9 , but their should be a noticeable improvement in graphics on the newer games made for dx-10. well you would think so. There’ll be more info on this topic just as soon as good dx-10 game comes into play.
