Why don't they ever create a jet that is capable of climing 90 degrees to the deck indefinitely, to a fairly high ceiling. Is that kind of thrust impossible? It just seems like it would enable some incredible manueverability. Granted his climb was very cool, but still...
If the F/A-18 can do it, maybe the F-22 can too. Might have just been for the dog and pony show they were putting on. Showing off the thrust would have been cooler to me, but maybe they thought it would have been lost on a lot of people.
Looking forward to the day that I can fly an F-22 in a flight sim. In fact, I haven't flown an F-18 in a flight sim since Jane's F-18 came out back in 2000.
