When I was a kid we'd catch a June Bug and tie a string around one of its legs and it was kinda like having a living balloon 'cept different.

When I was in Ohio visiting relatives as a youngster , the Fireflys were like magic. . Driving down the road at night or running around the yard with a net trying to catch them. We would put them in a mayonnaise jar and shake them up a bit lol. It made a good night time lantern. :P

You got lots of bugs over there Veg? I’ll bet with all the humidity. Bugs probably thrive in that wet atmosphere.

How do you tie a string around a June Bugs leg? It would be a nice pet on a flying string. =p There legs are so small….. I caught one tonight and stroked it’s back side, it had some white thingy bouncing up and down It’s belly every time as I petted it. Bizarre... There so slow and relaxed you can just reach down and effortlessly grab one with ease. It’s like the only time of year I can catch a bug without even trying. They look allot like the lady bug actually , just 4 times the size.

I remember June Bugs, in the summer there would be so many at night if you left porch light on, it was like a carpet. Nice and noisy when you walked out the door at night
