If there's anyone on here who is using X-Fi and Vista, Creative recently released the Vista version of their applications/drivers. They have a cd (you can't just download the apps from their autoupdate/driver download site) that they will ship you. It's free, but you pay for shipping. I inadvertantly ordered two of them (they only charge a single shipping charge so it's no big deal), but I have an extra disk that I'll send to whoever wants it for free. Just let me know.
You can get the drivers off their site, but you have to order the applications cd from their store. Free plus shipping. It's apparently all over the net on bittorrent, but I didn't want to get into downloading software of questionable origins. If you're not interested in their apps, you don't "need" it. Although, it has the apps for configuring surround sound speakers, support for the remote control, etc.
drivers, i think you have to install the apps from the cd that comes with it. It's just that Vista wasn't out when X-fi shipped last year or whenever it was.
Yeah, I don't know what's up with Creative and their drivers. You don't need them if you don't have the card, and if you have the card you need them, so why are you forced to have the CD and install that before you can DL update the drivers from the site?
