CPU Fan Speed

Post by Grifter »

Normally, my fan speed is rated about 1423 rpm. As of the last few days, however, it is rated at 1520 rpm. The CPU Temp is 40'C. Should I be concerned that my fan speed has been faster the last few days?

Sounds ok to me, my CPU fan speed is usually around 2000-3000 rpm. I wish my CPU temp was 40'C, mine sits at about 60'C on a good day. I am running an AMD 64 X2 4600+ Dual core CPU, so that makes a big difference. My video card temps get up to 90'C during games, much hotter than my CPU gets.

You don't have anything to worry about really, maybe it's been a little warm inside your case recently. I would only worry if the fan speed went slower, that could lead to poor cooling.

K, thanks SB. After all I've been through with temp problems, I like to keep a close eye on it.
