Yup, 1986 WS sucked but that monkey is now off our backs with the 2004 WS win and it looks like we'll be adding the 2006 WS soon.

Yes, and 1998. The Padres are known for choking in big games (ie, San Diego vs Colorado 2007 one game playoff). I have been a LONG time Padres fan, so I know how it feels to lose.

Didn't the Cardinals win the 2006 WS over Detroit? ;)

On a side note, I heard on the radio today that Curt Schilling won't be on the Red Sox next year, maybe the Padres can pick him up?

Something about Schilling and Red Sox management not getting along? It was a very brief discussion, but I'll see what I can dig up online.

Damn, that sucks. Well, if Schilling doesn't come back maybe the Red Sox can use that money towards signing Alex Rodriguez? lol

Overall, the 2007 World Series was "b o r i n g" as far as baseball games go.

The Rockies were about as dissapointing as my Padres in 1998.

Congrats to the Red Sox and their fans.

Boring yes. But after 86 years we got two wins in a matter of three years...I'll take it.

At least the Rockies made it interesting in game 3 and 4. Those games could have easily gone either way but Papelbon saved our ass.

LETS NOT FORGET ABOUT THE LONGEST STREAK IN BASEBALL! CHICAGO CUBS: A century since their last world series win and last world series apperance 1945 where they lost 4 games to 3 to the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers has since then won their last two out of three apperances in the fall classic. And my poor poor White Sox atleast they won it in 2005, maybe there will be a repeat and next year the White Sox will win it.

A little side note last time we've had a war of the North vs. the South was 1906 when the South Siders beat the North Siders 4 games to 2. its been now 102 years since either team has danced against each other in the fall classic, I'm hoping that the losing streak ends before the battle ground is set for that monumental explosion (LITERALLY we would need the national guard here to stop the onslaught). Marshall law would have to be enacted for that one.
