Beowulf
We saw this last night, it was a pretty good CGI movie. It had a little bit of humor in it. You see, Beowulf likes to fight in the nude (lol), and whenever his ummm "privates" were facing the camera, they would cover it up Austin Powers style.
I think they could have done without Angelina Jolie, she just seemed out of place. They could and should have used a no name beautiful woman and it would have been more believable. They did make her "well endowed", which was a good thing. .
Anthony Hopkins also played a small role in the movie as the original king. At one point, his character really looked like him, it was quite impressive.
There were parts of the movie I thought were very realistic looking. It was extremely impressive for a CGI movie. Probably one of the best looking CGI movies to date. As i was watching the movie, I couldn't help but think about someone making a movie based on the George R. R. Martin A Song of Fire and Ice series using the same CGI. If someone could pull that off, it would surpass the Lord of the Rings for sure.
Beowulf was worth watching IMO. We may go watch it again at the IMAX 3D theater in San Diego (if they are showing it). That would be amazing to see.

saw it yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. In terms of the CGI, it was impressive all round, but i thought the Brendan Gleeson character was probably the best done...for some reason it looked more 'real' than any of the others when compared to the man himself.

I just got home from seeing this tonight and I really enjoyed it. I thought the voice acting was excellent and the film really brought the epic of Beowulf to life. What I keep thinking is that if you like Lord of the Rings, you will most likely enjoy Beowulf.
Oh, and I did get to see it in 3D and it was such a trip. Uh, I think the last time I saw a movie in 3D was like in 1988? LOL

I would think they would get that back easily, the movie is rather good, it's getting rave reviews, and they have it in two formats. We'll have to wait and see I guess.Yeah really. Big name director + latest CGI and 3d effects + big name actors (Jolie and Hopkins) = 150 million dollar budget.
EDIT: Maybe not from the box office: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=beowulf.htm
But after DVD sales it should.

You may want to think twice about Hitman. Most of the reviews for it have been very negative.VEGETA wrote:i still have to go see this and the movie hitman (got free ticket to hit man but only good for another week and change)
so guess its time to hit the theaters soon
