No Country For Old Men wins Best Picture

Post by Softball »

I am very happy that this movie won Best Picture, it was probably my favorite and most memorable movie of 2007.

Hmmm.... well my most memorable movie of '07 was.....er....nevermind....

I pretty much think the "Academy" lost all credibility when they had a movie like "Sicko" even under consideration. So I sat around last night sick as a dog watching the rain fall and weep thru the seams at Fontana.

I have not seen No Country for Old Men yet but I definitely plan on renting it.

of all the movies that won or were nominated that I had seen were Transformers and Bourne Ultimatum.

And Buff: There's only so many documentaries, and if there's any consolation, it didn't win.

Oh gator I know it didnt win but to even consider it a "documentary" is what caused the lack of credibility for me.

I wonder if Michael Moore goes to Cuba for all of his healthcare needs? I mean, it would only be ideologically consistent for him to do so.

Bourne won for sound editing and audio effects. It was two awards, back to back.

Bourne Ultimatum won 3 awards, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, and Film Editing. I just might have to watch that series again on the HDTV.

The Academy = High School Student Council.

Michael Moore= any profound belief zealously favored is a fervent unwillingness to compromise for what is in the best interest for all people.

I still think Ratatouille should've been nominated for best picture and won, screw that "best animated" category.

My sarcasm was aimed at the oscars ... it was nearly midnight last night and josi asks me "when are they going to award the real ones?"

they took forever to give out too many silly ones, too many montages, and too much crap.

I remember reading an article a while ago that mentioned that the running time of the Oscars has kept growing and growing since the 80's. The ceremony ran for about 2 hours during most of the 80's and early 90's and now it often goes over 3 hours.

All people really care about are the awards for actors, director, film, music, and maybe a couple of the technical ones. The rest is just filler/crap.

Now you've gone and done it - giving them ideas! Next year they'll probably have an award for the 'best' filler/crap!
