What game???

Post by Nemisis »

Ok i got a few pennys to spare so what game should i buy. You all seem to be into this ARMA at the moment but isn't ARMA 2 coming out? Is it worth me buying ARMA if it's going to get replaced in a few months?

OR

Crysis looks interesting played the Demo and looks like fun.

But then i also seen SB's post about that other games in the Misc Ground assault forum SHOCK FORCE or something.

Oh and then of course there is Sins of a Solar Empire and the list continues.

Sugestions welcomed of the above options or other alternatives.

Thanks in advance PDT_Armataz_01_12

ok well crysis is more single player, I have it but ya don't see us doing multi player with it.

ARMA should be able to find a good deal on that one now, there is a expansion pack for it but we don't have it but its one we can play online as a team. Also with Steels new mod, has given this game a new life with everyone.

GRAW2, in all honesty don't bother

Sins of Solar Empire, its a stragity game but a good few of us have it Hondo, Gater, Softball and myself dad a game of it last night.

Supreme commander similar idea to sins of solar empire few of us have that and expansion, its fun.

For stragity I would get Sins of solar Empire for shooter find a deal on Arma. the problem now is we don't have a great tactical shooter. There are a few big things on the way this year specifically Arma2 and Blackhawk (that helicopter sim).

by ARMA, you'll be happy with the aftermarket add-ons that Steel has collected here.

Well i can get Arma Gold edition for about £17.99 $36 and it includes, the addon Queens Gambit which is the one Veg is talking about i pressume, but i'd have to order it OL and it will take 2-3 days to get hear or i can get same package OL (Download format) for about £5 $10 more.

So i'll probably just go for the Gold edition box set as i always like having the game in my hands so to speak just in case i have a hard drive failure (although i haven't had one yet) and bang thier goes you game.

I have downloaded Steels addons already so should be all ARMAD up by Wednesday hopefully.

Get ArmA Nem, you will like it. As others have said, we are not using the expansion, and we are using the 1.09 Beta patch. I can't say enough about the ECS mod, I absolutely love it. It makes me want to play ArmA a LOT more now.

You should be able to run the game without the expansion (Even if you have it installed), I believe it uses a mod folder and you can just run the game with out the
-mod command in the shortcut command line.

Thanks Steel. Um, "advive", "othrs"? Is Veg starting to influence you?

Ok have ordered Arma Gold Edition. Should hopefully recieve it by Friday at latest. The original place i found it had no stock so done some hunting and found it cheaper but still new at amazon UK. On the plus side i won £10 on the lottery this weekend so it's really only costing me 5.

The newest beta is 1.12, and that's what Panzer and I are using, so maybe we should all update to it?
