I wold rather spend a little more to get a brand you can trust. Now if you know that brand soyo well and have had great experences with them then its a little different ofcorse.
Tho the 1000:1 contrast ratio is nice, mine is 800:1 but the speakers um ya um those are crap lol

That's pretty good. My flatscreen also has a 5ms response time and I never have any kind of ghosting issues.Grifter wrote: EDIT. BTW, 5ms response time. Good or bad? If I recall, response time is important.

5nm = GREAT mine is 5ms, when I bought mine over a year ago 8ms was normal and 8ms was fine for gaming as well. I think the magic number was 12 ms or greater = bad. 5ms is great and the 1000:1 contrast ratio means good colours . no0 idea if you would see much difference form 800:1 range or not tho.
Basiclayt he stats of the monitor are great I just know little of the name. I can tell you now majority of monitories actually have the same lcd screen, I believe most of them are made bu chermai (i am sure I butchered the name) but the electronics tht run the screen are where it counts these days. And the screen in your smay be fine I am more interested in quality of the electronics running it. Thats where things get skimped and you could have a monitor die earler or not look as good as advertised.

the only review I could find, no reviews out there really and not many places selling them. Now no info dose not equal bad, and all info says good for price basiclay. I don't think you would have issues but I just can't say. Its sort of a case the one you know vs what you don't know. I would love to go to a store and look at one if possable, look at the plastic and such see if its cheesey built or a decent monitor.
And its not as much the electronics lasting as them producing the defined spec's as good as desired. I would hate tog et a monitor that says its in the same league as my current one to find it just not there, bleads a lot of light or some other bad thing.
Lok at it another way, and yes I love my car analogyse, use them all the time with pc's but think of a focus vs a bmw m3, in the end both get the job done, both get you to where you need to go, hell even a focas you can have fun in in all honesty if you got the biger engine. but the focas is not as nice as a bmw. Hell both can even last the same amount of time even. so if the syso is the flcus and will last just as long as say a acer or viewsonic, then it comes down to dose it look and handle as nice even tho there could even be the same stats on the thing.
And again it also comes dow to what do you need as well. soyo is not a no name brand, they are around as elll I just know little about them but they are not liek truetch which is targets own brand for electronics which are compelate crap lol. My dvd player was a 20$ trueteh that died the other day, not suprised but hey gives you a idea a decent name like tosheba player should last longer, a sony should last just as long but have more features and such and better electronics. I would still buy the tosheba nothign wrong with it

Yeah I'm thinking I'm going to wait. I saw an LG 19" w/ 2ms response time. But I would much rather buy a 22" at this point. You say you love your acer. How long have you had it? Do you use the DVI connection? Do you think it makes a difference? hmm.
EDIT: What monitors do some of you own? I know Veg and Buff on Acers. How about you Softball? Panz? I think Softball loves his monitor if I recall. Which one was it? hmm.

over a year now and it has 2 dvi connections, actulay can hook 2 pc's to it and thre is a switch on monitor to swap between pc's which i will be hooking up shortly. 2ms ya in all honesty you would not notice it. I would say get a 22" thats the best price point as 24" price is a lot more and 22" is a good size
