Java Help.

Post by Nemisis »

Hi guys! more assistance required if you can give it.

My wife like to download games from Shockwave.com tetris style stuff and puzzle games and so on, but since XP does not have Java Script with it, she cannot dowload or try these games out online anymore :(

I know M/soft has Java virtual Machine to use for this but i am unable to find the download for it on their website, maybe i am just blind or out of practice but i can see it, only lots of info on it but no download!

Can anyone point me in the direction of a suitable fix for this as it's a bit frustrating not being able to get Tracey the games she likes!

Have you looked in your Control Panel, Internet Options, Advanced and enabled Java?

Java

This is what you need Nemisis:

SUN JAVA
http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp

Try it and see if that solves your problem. You may need to reboot the computer after you install it.

Java

Madrus, are you running WinXP SP1 by chance?

I remember reading somewhere that SP1 includes a Java program/update. Maybe that's why?

And if Nemisis is running SP1 and can't see Java applets, then I'm stumped.

I don't have SP1 so that will explain it!

Thanks Softball! Tracey says thank you.
