I did buy Doom 3 and played it once but I wont be bothering with Doom 4 unless it has Cooperative multiplayer which I really doubt.

I may pick it up when it's in the bargain bin, like I did with Quake Wars and Quake 4.

ID Software just might as well go over to making console games because it seems that they've run out of new ideas.

That Rage game is their new idea. Still no word on it. Of course, we don't know what engine Doom 4 will use, presumably the one that Rage will introduce, as it would seem silly for D4 to use the D3 engine, no matter how updated it is.
The odd thing is RTCW2 (or whatever they will call it) was talked about much farther back but there's no talk of it now. Scrapped in favor of D4 maybe?

Thought you guys liked Doom 3? Haven't played it myself, but I seem to recall you guys talking over comms about aspects of different levels? What happened? Did the ending suck?

Most of the big enjoyment I got from Doom 3 was playing it cooperatively online. The single player game was fun at times but only worth playing once IMHO. Waiting for the monster closets to open gets a bit old after the 100th time. :-)
