wolverines power is healing, ie he HEALS fast and he just realy don't age. We know he looked the same back to WW2 even fighting with Capstan America then tho no antimantium skeleton. He can be killed, ie he can lose to much blood or could be injured so much that no healing will take him down. But its hard to do to day the least.

O gamgit is also in there, that guy similer to wolverine, can't remember name but animal like that was in first movie. Don't recognize others.

Sabertooth.

Pretty sure the chunky guy is the Blob, although I wasn't aware of any connection between him and Wolverine prior to Wolverine joining the X-men.

Translated from the Vegenese:

'Capstan America' = Captain America
'gamgit' = Gambit

ok, so I really dont know my Xmen stuff (or any of the comics Cannon) but like I said I saw civil war there too and I assume he was USA not CSA because it looked like a blue jacket and USA cartage belt. Also the now standard WWII D-Day scene, and Nam. So he is like the Highlander (see I remembered it....god that was a sucky series). So if he didnt have the antimantium skeleton (Veg how can you get this right and frak up Capstan America???....lol )

then 'splain to me the kid with the claws?

Born James Howlett and commonly known as Logan, Wolverine is a mutant, possessing animal-keen senses, enhanced physical capabilities, retracting bone claws, and a healing factor that allows him to quickly recover from virtually any wound, disease or toxin, enabling him to live beyond a normal human lifespan

from wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolverine_(comics)

I have heard bone claws, and I know in one xman cartoon epesode they show him using long climing claws which he then uses as a weapon and even comments he likes. Comic I don't know as much. Notice how the claws the kid had are not shinny metal looking

Now one thing that bugged me about the movies is they do deviate form the canon, ie Wolverine did work for the US in WW2 but in was a canadian team similer to xman who infused him with the antimantium and is from where he escaped. Looking at the movie that's all US sided. He is a Canadian, born 19th century Canada

Here is his actual story

fun read

Actually, it's adamantium, derived from the word 'adamant':
