Post by VEGETA »

Well I saw this oe yestorday and put a deposit on it. 2006 model used as demo so 300 km (nothing) on it but 4250$ when second hand 2003 sv650 go for 4k up here. Get 1 1/2 years warranty even, when a 2009 GT650 version (same bike just the frame painted new colour) goes for close to 9k I think I ma getting a steel of a price.

The bike has a somewhat beefy look to it. It's not a sleek as some other rockets out there; I like it. Interesting exhaust system...runs nearly below the whole frame. hmm. Keep your head on a swivel and a helmet on your head. Have fun.

what they call a naked, or a standard bike, u can get it with full farings or 1/2 faring but the naked looks best more classic look (love the big headlight in front) and a more upright seating position. I will add handal bar risers I think, I fealt a bit to far leaned over but straightened up a little and found handle bars go up 1" and they are in perfect spot. but its 650cc bike, 70 hp range. Its not a Supersport, 600cc supersport are 120hp range, but this has enough power to have a lot of fun but its resanale for a beginner ie its not going to take off the moment you touch gas.

And yes that is me
PDT_Armataz_01_12

Had put 500$ deposit on it 10 min earler and said I want a pic of the darn thing lol. Motorcycle course april 30th (earlest I can get it) then I camn drive it. I can drive it before but rather do course first for the m2 licence, m1 is a VERY restrictive permit and with a school close to me north and oe south no way. Rather have a clue first.

As for helmet man I want helmet, well armored jacket, armored pants, gloves and a decent set of boots. I an't being a squid (guy with a brain bucket, shorts and a t-shirt, they leave a good head but nothing else)

Looks nice. Are your feet even touching the ground? Lol.

Too bad you don't get to ride it for 3 more months, :P .

Make sure you get matching colored gear! When the bugs start hitting you in the face, neck, and chest, you're gonna wish you had a windscreen.

snow on ground lol

But buying it now I saved he would not even budge on price, as he put it if he don't sell it tell spring he raises price and still sells it easy. and the price is a STEEL anyway, so yes sucks have a toy that I cna't have now. but in the same respect he stores it for free tell spring, and I got soe time to save all cash to pay in full and still get the deal. Most places charge 100$ a month storage or so something dumb on holds like this.

As for windscreen, can get one that bolts onto the bars easy enough, just need enough to get flow of air in right direction. Alos I want a full helmet, so bugs hit that not me. As well I want full gear so bugs should not be a issue just need to wash it. bit thing is more 120mph wind on you um ya even a small windshield dose a lot to help this. But I love this look lol

the Hyosungs are not bad. you should expect them to not last as long as a Kawasaki or Suzuki for instance - but they are not bad. if you use it strictly as a commuter and take good care of it (maintenance) it should last a good long while. they will NOT last if you ride them hard.

please do be careful Veg.

I have done a bunch of research and they are not to suzuki build qualiaty but not far off. They actualy make the engines for a lot of the suzukis even. They actulay do there development in Japan with suzuki (they ahve a partnership) some parts even interchangeable. So engine sopose to be very close qualiaty to the sv650 engine but some things are a little less qualiaty not cheep but not as good as top end Japanese bikes. Good example is a hyundai vs say a GM, GM wilbe a bit better build qualiaty but the Hyundai is for the cost a steel and as long as you don't be dumb car lasts forever. So ya Steel like u said drive it like a mad man any bike will not last but this would last less time. Doing some research these bikes have actulay been proven to be realy good, no major issues, some things like turn signa switch known to break but u can get suzuki one to put in there for sheep and such. Some people have the 2005 and 2006 model of this bike over 100,000 miles. So ya take care of it it will last. but in my case I am in a family of gear heads including myself so I will be doing minor upgrades and such anyway. Like steel break lines and such and it wil be babyed and I an' t racing and such. Its not for commutr but getting out of sity and just going for a ride, sure have fun do some tight turns but nothing dumb.

yes, they do make motors for other manufacturers, but it is the rest of the bike that will/may fall apart on you.

picked up a helmet yesterday, went to a big shop near me called royal distributing some sales on the go as off season and found the helmet listed in the top of the folliong add. Has bluetooth built in which is a nice feature but put it on and it felt right on my head, only dot rated now snell but have a feeling I will end up with another helmet soon enough with soem other features I like such as the built in sun viser that comes down inside the helmet ie instant sunglassess. Figure tho especialy when I am concall and want to get out this will be great, get call from the NOC group pull over break out laptop with air card and fix issue.

Next onto jacket and pants, o boy the textile vs leather debate and having enough armor to be safe in the jacket in the right spots. this is harder then choosing a motorcycle lol
